Moderately hoppy aroma of pine, grapefruit, caramel, grains, and a touch of residual sweetness. The body is pretty damn good for an IPA. Not too thick, but not lacking in any qualities either. The flavor is good and certainly tasty. The malt is sweet and robust, with a bitter, piney flavor that makes things interesting. I could drink this with some regularity, methinks. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 26, 2002 The summer smell of freshly cut lawns and big piles of grass clippings blend brilliantly with a musky hint of lime and avocados. The presentation is nice, a deep gold wit a bright white razor thin cap. I really like the start of this, a smooth refreshing lemon-lime bittersweet tounge. The end however, is kind of strange. Although I enjoy the smell of freshly cut grass, I don’t particularly enjoy tasting it. A bit of a grassy exit, after a good bitter up swell.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 20, 2006 22 oz bottle. Pours a nice red amber with a decent head with tons of lacing. You can smell the strong hops aroma when you pour it into a glass. There is a nice balance of carmel malt and hops, but I like my IPA’s with more of a bite. Citrus and pine linger on the palate. Overall: not bad, not great. dwedin (238), Portland, Oregon, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 20, 2007 12-oz bottle. Copper color with a persistent thick head, white with orange lacing. You first notice the nicely hopped aroma as a promise of complexity that will be unfortunately not fulliflled. A very well balanced, very capable IPA. If i had to chose among many macro-brewed IPAs i would pick this one... twindog (98), Hampstead, Maryland, USA
