Hearty orange amber pour with an even, medium off-white head. Cleansing fresh aroma of grapfruit citrus and orchid blossoms, all balanced by a semi-sweet brown sugar and prune maltiness. Smooth, slightly creamy texture that slides across the tongue delicately, rather than pierce it brutally with its hoppy talons. The hops take hold of the palate at first, allowing a soft white grapefruit to scrub the tongue clean. From there, this brew’s softer side takes over, allowing some flavors of wheat toast and raisin to enter the picture. Final smack of delicate grapefruit rind. greenhorn1 (462), Mission Viejo, California, USA

You can smell the strong hops aroma when you pour it into a glass. There is a nice balance of carmel malt and hops, but I like my IPA’s with more of a bite. Citrus and pine linger on the palate. Overall: not bad, not great. dwedin (238), Portland, Oregon, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 16, 2009 Bottle. Darker amber color topped by a thin white head. Light sweet orange hop aroma reminds me of jolly ranchers and indeed the flavor starts off very sweet and fruity...then some caramel malts and an easy short bitter finish. Crisp and refreshing and not overwhelming on the hops. Juancho (225), Clearwater Beach, Georgia, USA

You first notice the nicely hopped aroma as a promise of complexity that will be unfortunately not fulliflled. A very well balanced, very capable IPA. If i had to chose among many macro-brewed IPAs i would pick this one... bigtaster (184), Grand Rapids, USA

Makes it sharp bitter, but the abundance of malts balances and saves this one from the junk pile. Good. Not great, could be better. Add some spcies and fruit and you got the money.
