Suttree (2283), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Apr 28, 2008 Coppery orange, small white head. Great aroma - resin, pine, sticky hops. Flavor is, as one might guess, dominated by hops - resiny and sticky, but also nice notes of grapefruit and, uh, more grapefruit? Really hop dominated, and I really liked it. WBF, Raleigh.
ahalloin (44), Arlington, Virginia, USA Aug 29, 2008 Pours a cloudy dark golden color with a lush foamy head that clings to the side of the glass. Their are some chunks of yeast floating around in my glass as well! The aroma is very rich with toffee, caramel, citrus, and some pine. The palate is light on the carbonation and smaller than I would have predicted for a Lagunitas beer. The flavor seems skewed toward the malty for an IPA. Not bad, but different. craftycarl21 (184), South Hero, Vermont, USA Aug 28, 2008 pours a clear copper with little head. Aroma strong of citrus, particularly grapefruit, orange, and lemon. Flavor is similar, with more hop bite and a nice bitter aftertaste. Tasty brew, different than your typical IPA, but still nice. CheersBabe (54), USA Aug 24, 2008 this does not drink like an IPA. i had it out of a bottle, and it tasted sweet and sugary, with a strong grapefruit flavor. it tastes much more like linenkugel’s sunset wheat than a normal pale ale. in fact, it tastes it tastes a lot like lemon-lime soda. however, it does have a decent aroma, but the aroma does not match an IPA. i bought this beer expecting an IPA and i was very disappointed. EHopper (118), Minnesota, USA Aug 22, 2008 Had this while on vacation in CA. A wonderful beer to have on tap at so many "regular" places. Though a relatively simply mix of hops and malt, still so much more to this beer than what one usually finds when out at a family resteraunt. omhper (10438), Stockholm, Sweden Aug 17, 2008 Bottled at Ørsted Ølbar, Copenhagen. Clear amber, small head. Aroma of grapefruit. Lots of caramelly malt, more so than hops. Above medium bodied with good levels of bitterness.
