Pours a hazy straw gold with peachy or rosy hues and a foamy white head. Aroma was wonderful, nice subtle hop notes, perfume, lemons, pine, with a floral bouquet from the yeast. Flavor was very similar to the aroma with nice malt undertones and a touch of biscuit to go along with the hop citrus and flowers. Well balanced in the nose and on the tongue. Finish has some lasting bitterness and no hint of the heightened alcohol, even a bit watery. This really exceeded my expectations, subtle while still maintaining a unique character. But is it bold enough for Zappa? All I can think when I drink this beer is how incredibly fresh it tastes. Great hop character... nice finish.. just a great beer that I will drink regularly until it goes away. The aroma has fruity notes of papaya, mango, tangerine, resin and a touch of caramel. The flavour has a light sweetness and the same nice notes as the flavour, but the citrus is more dominant, especially grapefruit. The bitterness is light. Thank you Tom/After4ever for this charming beer. ante (2960), Stockholm, Sweden

L: Hazy sunburnt orange with a tight creamy head of white foam that slowly settled into a thin sudsy lacing.
S: Nice hop aroma of grapefruit, lemon juice, mangos and earthy herbs. At the edges is cracker-like pale malts.
F&T: Light, airy feel in the mouth with a soft creamy crispness, this goes down quite easily. Citric hop tastes of lemon, orange peel and grapefruit, finishing with a soft earthy bitterness. The pale malts provide a light backing, touches of sugary cookie dough and ending with a delectable cracker dryness.
Another well crafted ale in the Zappa series, I can’t wait for the next one.

Refreshing floral hops and orange peel are the most dominating scents. Soild character in the body and easy going on the mouthfeel. Ripe grapefruit tones complimenting the more grassy bitterness of the hops. A bit thin in the finish. drtees (1), USA does not count | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 30, 2008 Most impressive aroma I have ever experienced in an ale. This ale must be poured into a glass, not quaffed straight from the bottle. Zappa would be proud! nuplastikk (1219), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

It is crisp and smooth, with lots of fresh malt character. The hops dominate, but just shy of the hop syrup effect of some Double-IPAs. There is a slight chilling bitter aftertaste that is quite enjoyable.
