| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 19, 2008 Bottle. High and lasting fluffy off-white head. Clear amber body. Apple pear aroma with sweet undertones plus a good deal of hops. Moderate hops bitterness and burned barley malt flavor with a long and bitter aftertaste. Low carbonation. Frank Zappa tribute, well ok but is this (as I think of FZ) really going its own ways? Rebellion ? Being odd ? | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 18, 2008 Clear gold body and sudsy white head. Pungent spice and stonefruit aromas plus some corny sweet malt. Appealing coarse hop flavor and finish. Somewhat grainy, but nice, interesting, big IPA. Thanks to dirty_martini.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 16, 2008 22 oz bottle, via mwelsh13. Ha! Rating #420 for this beer, do I get a prize from Lagunitas? Pours a yellow gold body under a fizzy one finger off-white head that faded to a thin covering. Lots of heavy lacing from this one. The nose is bright and citrusy with some grassy and floral hints. Minimal malt impact but maybe a touch of biscuit. The flavor is quite aggressively hoppy with lots of citrus and a touch of resiny hops on the finish. The flavor is all about the hops, like the nose is. A touch of light caramel sweetness and some toasted grain serve up all those hops on a platter. Nice lingering bitterness coming in late. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a slight resiny stickiness on the finish. Unfortunately there’s also the classic fizzy prickly Lagunitas carbonation that is a bit of a turnoff. Overall, I think one of their better beers. dyetube (419), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 16, 2008 This beer pours a golden orange with a medium white head leaving some great lacing down the sides. When you tqake a whiff of this thing... WOW is all I can say. Lot’s of great hops , grassiness and all the things you expect from an ipa! The flavors do not let you down either! Lot’s of good hops with a nice malt backbone. This is prob. my favorite lagunitqas brew to date! Go grab one and enjoy yourself (or at least enjoy someone else!) | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 15, 2008 Poured a nice golden color with a thin white had. Aroma was mostly pine like with some soap like notes. Flavor was on the hoppy side with some citrus malt notes in the finish. This beer was smooth but could have been fuller on the palate. Still a decent IPA. mar (1972), Dallas, Texas, USA
