Bomber bottle and served in standard pint glass: Clean golden hue with a nice frothy head and very good lacing. The aroma has notes of grapefruit, pineapple, pine and clove hop esters, biscuity malt, chalky yeast, and a hint of soap. The taste starts quite acidic fruity and bitter with a hop spice finish. A mild layer of soft grains support the well done hop character. The mouth feel is sprite and refreshing with a metallic finish. Overall a better than average IPA , quite quaffable.

22oz bottle puchased from Bauer Wines in Boston for $5. Pours a clear medium straw with decent head and little carbonation. Aroma is reasonably hoppy. Flavour has some piney hops that are slightly understated. Wasn’t knowing what to expect from the bottle at first, but then I expected a bit too much from some of the reviews I read.

Bottle. Medium honey body with a lasting half inch foamy head. Nose-weak OJ, grapefruit, cereal, light PNW hops. Taste-medium PNW hops, medium bitter (perfect bitter), very clean hop profile with a low-medium sweetness, clean cereal, orange zest, lemon-lime, slight dirty water on the back end, very clean hops with a low sweetness that is kept in check. Not syrupy or too sticky. A well crafted IPA.

Pale gold appearance with a small, white head and decent lacing. Resinous hop aroma; low keyed soft fruit for support. Tastebuds ’zappa’ed’ by a flavorsome mix of citrusy, piney hops, followed by a ’dweezel’ of grainy malts to add a modicum of balance. Full-to-medium bodied, well carbonated mouthfeel leading to a crisp, dry, long lasting finish.

bottled, consumed on 11/22/07. Clear golden with energetic carbonation. A fine rocky white head a finger thick formed and stayed for a while in the glass before subsiding to a thin white skin. Aroma is resiny, grapefruity hops. Mouth feel is smooth, though not quite creamy. Hoppy on the tongue initially although a thin malt flavor peeks through briefly. The finish is pretty well-balanced (60/40 hop/malt), but the malt disappears quickly, leaving a long, lingering hop bitterness. Nothing too special unless you’re a hophead.

Sample provided by scraff. Clear, pale/straw body with a small white head. The nose is herbal with grapefruit, tangerine and cotton candy. The flavor is cotton candy, grapefruit and apricot. Medium body is round with light carbonation and a bitter finish.

Lactic and piney nose with a touch of herb. Again lactic on the palate with good bittering, could use more flavor hop additions.
