| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 29, 2007 Bottle, from malto Bright golden-amber. Tangerines and apricots on the nose alongside wildflower honey. Fairly crisp hops, clean pale malts with a nectarine and pear fruitiness. Fairly dry, with a subtle alcoholic bite that blends with the lemony hop character. Retains a bit of that signature Lagunitas sweetness at the back. I like it better when I think of it as a random strong ale than an IPA. Crit (2405), New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada

I’m not a giant fan of his music, though some of it is so beautifully far out that you can’t help to like it. Some shrooms helps understand.
All that great Zappaness aside, this was a pretty nice ale to drink on a hot, firestorm kinda day and I think this is the ale that made the gal at work I like into a craft beer lover. I mean, come on, I weaned her off a Stella into a Zappa and she dug it.
Lagunitas continue to surprise me as their normal offerings aren’t god’s bread. This is bread with a little slice of pudding. Bread pudding. ElGaucho (1730), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA

Rated exactly 2 months after the original bottle version. Ar 7, Ap 4, Fl 9, Pal 5, Ov 17. Better than I remember the bottle version to be. Seemed to me to be an Alpha King clone. Whereas the bottle version wasn’t well balanced the tap version had virtually perfect balance. Picked up 3 extra points this time around. 10/27/07: Bottle. Wonderful floral hop aroma. Hazy, light amber body with a large, frothy, slightly off-white head. Lots of visible carbonation. Excellent lace. Dry, hoppy flavor. Not balanced enough, but good. Solid if a bit unbalanced. Tastes less strong than 7.8% ABV. Ar 9, Ap 4, Fl 7, Pal 4, Ov 15 Hank1980 (764), Athens, Georgia, USA
