| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 22, 2007 Poured from a 22oz bomber, and served in a shaker. This IPA poured a clear, amber color with a two-finger thick, rocky, beige head that slightly lasted. Some decent lacing was left around the glass. The aroma of the beer consisted of pine, grapefruit, and caramel. Nice and hoppy! The flavor had a huge grapefruit bitterness that seemed to mute the other flavors and totally took over. Some mild caramel notes still managed to sneak in at the end. The mouthfeel of the beer was medium-bodied with a good amount of carbonation. A good, but not great IPA. aarossell (151), Grandville, Michigan, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 22, 2007 bottle, creamy white head, bubbly clear yellow body....slightly orange. Very hoppy aroma, smooth mouth feel, and full bodied flavor. Floral hop everything...reminds me of Bell’s Hopslam. Braudog (3762), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 22, 2007 22 oz’er. Poured golden orange with a large, poofy, sticky-sided head of gluey foam. The aroma is awesome ... flowery and hoppy, citrusy and sweet. Bit slippery across the tongue, yet light in body. The flavor is well nuanced with a pretty big fruity, flowery, almost-honey-based essence. The sticky hop bitterness lingers for quite a while. Nice West Coast IPA. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 18/20 | Oct 22, 2007 Pale honey color. Smallish head leaves blotchy lace like paintball splats. Nose is abuzz with resiny, fruity hops… lemon zest, orange, pine, rosemary, fresh-sawn cedar. Background aromatics include apricot, woosdy/herbal, and bubblegum scents. Further inspection reveals another layer of sauvignon blanc spiciness, parmesan, and musty haybales. Hop fruitiness is falsely perceived on the tastebuds as sweetness, rounded out by umbrella drink flavors of juniper berry, peach, and fruit cocktail. Crackery malt plays second fiddle. Dry, resiny finish. Soft carbonation does nothing to improve the watery, flaccid texture, this beer’s only fault. Aftertaste: very clean and short-lived bitterness. Pretty much a textbook APA and then some… a near-ideal everyday quaffer. tupalev (2617), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

The aroma is a little on the thin side but has some spicy hops in there. The flavour is amber malty with bittering hops with some floral piney hops. MadIndian (994), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 21, 2007 Sampled at the Newtown Brewfest 07 with Stegosaurus. Gold pour with real good hop aroma with a hint of malt. The blend was really nice as it went down very smooth. Dry finish and quite enjoyable. Glad to see this company still going strong. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Oct 20, 2007 First rating in a long time... I’m not sure why this one called to me. Anyway, back to the review.
Aroma is *all* hops. Nice, citric hops. Did I mention hops? Yeah, so there’s hops in there. Damn nice hops.
Appearance is a pale amber with a light head, but it did leave a nice lace down the glass.
Flavor is definitely high-alpha hops, I’m thinking Cascade. I’m going to cherish this as it appears it’s gonna be a while before breweries make one-offs like this again, sadly. It loses points simply because it needs a little more balance; it lacks something sweet to bring it back.
Palate is crisp and on for the style. Overall, it’s just a bit one-dimensional, stated by a certifiable hop-head. And I gotta say, you never sense the high-alcohol content. Until, that is, the beer is gone.
