Color of body is almost a cross between peach juice and yellow. Clear in nature. Nice hoppy nose. Flavor profile matches that of the nose. My guess its one or two hops at most. None of these crazy 10+ variety blends!! (or at least it tastes that way). Hops linger on palate in the aftertaste. Not too bitter, but still present. Nice beer. Could it be more complex? Perhaps, but sometimes its nice to have something on the simple side. dpjuart (670), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jun 19, 2008 22 oz bomber shared with Naka. Pours orange with slight ruby tones, egg shell head, foamy and one finger. Nose says pine and floral hops with mild caramel sweetness. Taste is thick, rich caramel malt up front with great floral and mild piny hop notes. Mild citrus and plenty of earthy bitter, but it doesn’t all linger. A sweetness takes over at the end and mellows the bitter in the after . Slight grassiness in the after. Naka (526), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 18, 2008 Courtesy of Juart. Pours a clear orange amber color with a chalk white foamy head. A little lacing as well. A good floral pineapple-y hop nose. Some honey and a little orange. Flavor is hugely floral. Lots of tea and peach. A touch of piney flavors and not really any citrus to speak of. Very sweet... a little too much so. Has a pretty bitter finish that lasts on the tongue. Decent medium to thick body. wilkie (1193), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 18, 2008 Bottle. Pours amber/copper, with a slightly off-white head. Aroma is hops--grapefruit, soap, pine. Flavor is hoppy, but there is a lot of caramel and earthyness. Very smooth. Worthy tribute to Frank. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 11, 2008 I saw Zappa on this label and had to pick it up, Lagunitas never dissapoints me. This brew pours an orange-golden body with a small white head that stays around for a while. Has a very nice floral hop aroma that stays sweet in your nose. The first initial taste is sharp and biting with a well balanced hop mouthfeel. fruity all around- grapefruit, pear and nectarine. mighty tastey and hopefully the first in a long line of dedicated rock n’ roll artist labels?? Wishful thinking i suppose... Skyview (4096), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 26, 2008 What a strange name for a beer. How this got passed ATF is beyond me. Sampled at BDR’s tasting and shared by BDR. Pours a clear light orange golden pale brew with a thin white head that quickly dissipates to a fine film and white ring. Aroma of floral character with some white bread malts, a touch of coriander, and some Ivory soap. Taste is light to medium bodied, light carbonated with flavors or some dried tropical fruit character with apricots, some grassy hops and a touch of dried herbs. Finish is semi-dry, a tad flat with some herbal spice aftertaste that lingers a little after the finish. radiomgb (2072), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 19, 2008 Golden in colour, thin white coloured head with some light lacing. The aroma is quite floral, some rose petals, soapy, some sweetness. The flavour is of floral hops, some pine and light citrus, soapy with a moderate bitterness. Lightly bitter mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes moderately bitter, lingering, floral and sweet.
I prefer my IPA’s to have more citrus hops than floral hops. Not bad, a bit soapy.
650ml bottle obtained in a trade with jasonmech77, thanks Jason.
