| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 13, 2009 A: Pours a nice golden yellow color with a nice frothy head. Sheet after sheet of lacing is left behind.
S: Nice citrus aroma. You could pass this one off as grapefruit juice on aroma alone. Deep beneath the grapefruit there is some peppery spice. A very nice smelling beer.
T: I love Maximus and Undercover, but this is my favorite Lagunitas brew to date. There is a huge grapefruit taste that is backed up by a very strong sweet malt character. This beer comes at you in waves. You are first hit by the bite of the hops which is overtaken by the malty sweetness. You are then left with a lasting bite of the hops.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 8, 2009 22 oz bottle from beerguy101. He hooked me UP with some Lagunitas oldies. This one was a gusher. Only lost an ounce or two before I grabbed the proper glass. Hazy/cloudy peach amber with off white head. Strong lace and ring. Nose is lightly fruity, like raisin with citrus, with some light spice as well. Hints of cinnamon or clove? Taste is immediately light and high in the mouth, with yeast. Effervescent up high. Sweet fruitiness, ala grapefruit, comes out. The hoppiness is gone. If ya got one, drink it now, as it’s past its prime. I’m happy to have got to try this, even if it’s seen better days. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 27, 2009 This beer was a staple in my house this past summer. And while it’s just now I’m getting around to input my thoughts on this beer, I still have several bottles and while they aren’t as potent as they were in July, it’s still really damned good.
The beer pours out a straighforward amber color with huge amounts of clingy head and intricate lace patterns left behind. A stunning fluffy, light tan/off-white head stays with you the entire pint. The beer oozes citrusy goodness with a floral angle that works really well for me. Slight notes of bread and caramel are also accounted for. Flavor has a stunning piney hop note, peppery with a helping dose of caramel to smooth things out nicely. Even now with the beer past it’s price, it’s still prickly enought to let you know that it was a solid IPA and still easy to drink. pootzboy (1048), Hawgville, Ontario, Canada
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Oct 22, 2009 22oz. bottle: Been saving this, hope not too long.
Pour: Orange-gold with a rich off-white cap, great retention and lacing.
Aroma: Peaches and biscuit malt some floral-citrus notes.
Good body, rich caramel malts in the front balanced with peachy esters and citrus-pine hop bite which goes bitter in the finish.
A great IPA and a tribute to a great man. williamherbert (466), Syracuse, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 2, 2009 The looks is impeccably clear light orange. Large champagne bubbles. Golden with a big puffy head. Looks like a pilsner more than anything. Decent lace.
The smell is a magnificent, floral, citrusy hop aroma with a hint of pine. Like an explosion of flowers and citrus fruits. The aroma evolves with a deep inhale: flowers --> citrus --> pine. Phenomenal.
Hop flavor is much more woody than anything else. Bitter woody hops. Very strong with an oak finish. Not as subtle in the taste or complex as the smell. Overly hoppy and woody. Not as balanced as I would have liked, to be honest.
Feel has a thick, juice-like feel. Leaves a bitter oaky film. Overall it’s strong and "extreeeme!" Hops are almost too much. It’s not a subtle brew. A bit disappointing in its extremity. arrogantb (707), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 1, 2009 This IPA was golden yellow with a tenacious sticky head webbing the glass. Taste is bitter, slight citrus, lots of IBU’s or at least it seems super bitter. Pretty good on the second bottle. I liked this better than Maximus and you can’t beat the price ($3.49).

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 21, 2009 Bomber, so excited I finally get to try this before it disappears entirely! Pours clear and golden, with a medium sized white head. Good lasting lacing. Aroma has a fruity, floral tint, with grapefruit and lemon zest notable. Flaor holds a firm lemony sway, with pale and crystal malt. Nice hoppy accents without much sweetness, which is a change for sweet ASA-specialist Lagunitas. Finish is dry, with citrus flavors and a clean bitterness. This is quite nice, actually, sort of like a toned-down Hop Stoopid. It stays light throughout, masking alcohol as well as minimizing distracting sweetness. Hops are in focus, and made easily quaffable.
