Laced with an assortment of spices, very rich and hearty while going down light and cleansing. brian1233 (30), North Augusta, South Carolina, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Dec 13, 2002 Not bad. Malty, roasty aroma maybe some hints of grapes and prunes. Dark reddish brown, cloudy with a light beige head. Flavor is sweet and hoppy. I can detect some citrus and herbal flavors. Nice creamy feel in my mouth. A nice bock-like beer. jazz88 (2237), San Francisco, California, USA

The flavor is chocolate and caramel, roasty and rich. The alcohol is just the slightest bit noticeable. BillKismet (1938), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 6, 2002 DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE LABEL!!! THIS IS AN IPA!. Rich amber bodied with a frothy, pockish head this beer looked tasty. Nominally a bock, the Lagunator Ale has a floral hop head typical of IPA’s possibly with a hint of malt if you strain for it. The taste reflects teh aroma with a pungently floral hop taste and a sour-bitterness on the finish that could have been better balanced. Over the course of drinking it, I gave this beer an hour or so to warm--hoping to elicity bock qualities. After straining myself in this manner, I finally detected some malts in the puddle that would be my final sip. A nice power-packed IPA--but NOT A BOCK. hoorayforbeer (105), Denton, Texas, USA

Intense American hop flavor combined with the sweet caramel and lightly roasted barley flavors of a bock. Very nice. baobubba (446), Corvallis, Oregon, USA
