Great winter beer. Definitely a warming brew, nice balance of malt and hops. Laced with an assortment of spices, very rich and hearty while going down light and cleansing.

Not bad. Malty, roasty aroma maybe some hints of grapes and prunes. Dark reddish brown, cloudy with a light beige head. Flavor is sweet and hoppy. I can detect some citrus and herbal flavors. Nice creamy feel in my mouth. A nice bock-like beer.

Tap. The aroma has lots of malts and a touch of red fruit. Nice hop fuel to the malt punch.

This is a really good beer. Aroma is sweet, caramel, rich and malty. The flavor is chocolate and caramel, roasty and rich. The alcohol is just the slightest bit noticeable.

DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE LABEL!!! THIS IS AN IPA!. Rich amber bodied with a frothy, pockish head this beer looked tasty. Nominally a bock, the Lagunator Ale has a floral hop head typical of IPA’s possibly with a hint of malt if you strain for it. The taste reflects teh aroma with a pungently floral hop taste and a sour-bitterness on the finish that could have been better balanced. Over the course of drinking it, I gave this beer an hour or so to warm--hoping to elicity bock qualities. After straining myself in this manner, I finally detected some malts in the puddle that would be my final sip. A nice power-packed IPA--but NOT A BOCK.

Pours reddish-brown. This is one hoppy brew. Intense American hop flavor combined with the sweet caramel and lightly roasted barley flavors of a bock. Very nice.

Medium red-amber colored. Hoppy aroma (grapefruit, citrus) backed by sweet malt (caramelized sugar, fresh roasted malts). Full palate. Decent stuff.

One of the best American Bocks I’ve had. Nice big malty body with just enough hops to bring everything around. Nice creamy palate, very full. Excellent brew.
