Poured copper/amber in color with a small off-white head that diminished quickly. Lightly sparkling. Clear. Flavor is very malty. Tastes of malts, clove, chestnuts, bread dough, and a bit of bittering hops. Tastes like an Alt. Medium body. Average, slightly chalky texture. Malty finish. robforbes (1099), Bremerton, Washington, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 16, 2008 Appearance is a nice mahogany with tan 1/2 inch head. Tried at the AZ Strong Beer Festival...but wish I would have used my ticket on another!!! Sweeter than expected...not of dark dried fruit but rather of "brighter" tropical varieties. These flavors shouldn’t be included in a Brown. I enjoyed the uniqueness, not the taste. BeerVirgin72 (814), Pataskala, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 16, 2008 Had on tap at Brews. Pour was a cloudy and very boring light brown. Why didnt this taste like gravy? I kid...Of course. Smell was a bit of caramel and malts. Taste was malts, brown sugar, and a bit hoppier then I expected for a brown ale. There was an odd aftertaste I could not place and did not care for. blutt59 (2147), Dallas, Texas, USA

It was a nice redish, brown. Very malty and initially good w/an odd aftertaste I couldnt quite pinpoint. Wife liked it a bit more than I did though. kyzr (1127), Belgrade, Montana, USA
