| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 13, 2008 Clear copper beer with a 2" head. Rich, hoppy aroma with pine accents. Medium bitter taste or hop, and caramel and nut. An even more bitter finish. One of the better nutty, malted sugar ales out there. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 13, 2008 Bright copper-wire color with a filmy off-white head. Sweaty, syrupy, caramelized malt aroma with modest spice notes. Malt profile suggests a bock, but a quick volley of volatile hop compounds assert themselves shortly thereafter. Lots of syrupy malts and phantom lager characteristics. Crass, but creative and drinkable. Lagunitas should use that as a slogan.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 12, 2008 Pours extremely lightly carbonated. Very small off-white head that seems to dissipate fairly quickly. Color is in the middle of burnt orange and root beer brown. Very clear.Sweet aroma. First flavors are not sweet at all, then it gains a sweetness in the aftertaste followed a few seconds later by a hoppy aftertaste, which lingers on the tongue. Thinnish body. Not the best of the Lagunitas fair I’ve tasted over my years (mostly not-rated). Bought it mostly because the label intrigued me. Now I have to look for the first one that has already been released. Wonder what the third will be? RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 12, 2008 Pours nicely. Good amber color with a tannish head that falls but leaves a lot of lacing. Leafy and sweet fragrance is there, but there just isn’t that much. Flavor is nice and leafy. there isn’t really anything complex or mind blowing at all. I mean it’s nice and all. Sure there are the smooth characteristics. But there is nothing really showy at all. Feel is smooth and the carbonation is nice, if not a little bit low. Like I said, this is a nice brown ale. Nothing crazy, but it is good. I would be interested to try this on cask. lovemyipas (420), sw burbs, Illinois, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 12, 2008 had this with maniac and agree. aroma and flavor is mostly caramel malt with a little pine hops that show up at the end. nice fluffy head good lacing and descent carbonation. ok nothing spectacular. rocbyter (928), Waterbury, Connecticut, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 12, 2008 Milky malt aroma. Clear dark orange color with a small white head. Malty start with bitterness developing late. Finishing with a caramel and slight coffee flavor. Good body. pantani (1902), Salinas, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Feb 11, 2008 Amber with a nice cream colored head. Aroma is lightly alcoholic, faint caramel. Not much at all to the aroma. Taste is a bit of caramel, light hoppiness. Just not a lot to this beer, it’s not bad by any means, but just forgettable. jrob21 (1282), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Feb 11, 2008 Copper color with a decent off white head that lasts for a while. Other than a slight fruit flavor and the characteristic sweetness from these guys, there is not a lot of other dimension to this beer. Slight hop bitterness on the end. Aroma of slight caramel and some hoppy citrus. I’ve definitely had better from these guys. This is certainly drinkable just nothing to go cross town for.
