xnoxhatex (791), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 6, 2008 On tap at binny’s south loop. Darker hazy brown-red with substantial fizzy off-white head. Aroma is toffee, yeast, bread, a little molasses, brown sugar, fresh noble hops, medium dry in general. Brown sugar, a little yeast, some hop notes, plum, some alc, but very subdued. Medium to thin body that is a tad bit watery. Not bad, though I was expecting a little bit more after there last beer in the series.
jmikolich (363), Athens, Ohio, USA Sep 30, 2008 22oz bomber, pour is a nice deep dark amber, smells like a barleywine, tastes like an over crystal malted BW, not bad not very potent, shocked @ only 7.2%... was hoping for more
MI2CA (1101), Noblesville, Indiana, USA Sep 29, 2008 22oz - Aroma of crystal and caramel malts followed by pine hops. Pours transparent garnet with a big head and good lacing. Flavor is a very weak match to aroma. No bite and there is only a subtle lingering in the aftertaste. Palate is kind of sticky. Would be a lot better if the flavor was as strong or stronger than the matching aroma. GuilTTy (459), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA Sep 27, 2008 Bomber bottle from Canals in Lawrenceville. Clear cedar pour supporting a small light khaki head which settles to a thin disc that lasts about half-way to the bottom of the glass. Fruity aroma with burnt caramel hopping about. Surprising yeasty note gives way to flavors of toffee, cocoa, dried apples and caramel - perhaps a bit too much caramel. Hop presence ie is there but too restrained. Texture is a bit oily and the beer finishes on the sweet side. Another style bending offering from these guys but this time the flavors and balance are a bit bent out of proportion as well. Theis (2212), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 9, 2008 Bottle at Sune’s (Thanks). Clear red/brown - white head. Caramel, alcohol, guldøl, boring, thin metallic, why - bøvs ???? KimJohansen (4299), Copenhagen V, Denmark Sep 9, 2008 Dark amber with medium beige head. Sweet aroma with overripe fruits, caramel, roasted malt and chocolate. Sweet and hoppy flavor with ripe fruits, caramel and toffee notes. Ends bitter.
