(190608) sunevdj (1384), Copenhagen, Denmark Aug 31, 2008 @ home with the club. Smells of malts. Strong lager/Vienna. Malty, caramle. Full bodied. Medium carbonation. Dry finish. luv_casks (171), USA Aug 27, 2008 pours a shine amber with brown highlights and nice than persistent head leaving really nice lacing.
Nose of nice caramel a touch of alcohol and some dates in the aroma.
Tastes really similar to what is smells like - caramel with spicy and pithy hope flavor.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodies with a creamy notes
Finish is dry, creamy and lingers for a bit with some spicy hop flavor and caramel notes.
Overall: For a limited release comes across as a huge amber with accent on dark crystal malts saving grace being the hops are present to eliminate the cloying effect. Methinks the caramel notes make it hard to enjoy a full pint of this...Skips along the line of being a little brother to a barleywine - feels stronger in alcohol than the 7.2% - some aging may make it like an old ale or little brother of the Gnarlywine. mrant (245), New York, USA Aug 24, 2008 Smells of nice strong malts and alcohol. Pours a dark amber color with a thick brown head. Taste is bitter hops with a nice light malt flavor. Very tasty
