zappafan99 (352), Rock Hill, South Carolina, USA Aug 5, 2008 Taste 8/8 Bottle(?date). Looks: Clear dark bronze. Head laces with a nice yeasty/bubble mix. Aroma: Caramel, lots of sweet malt, mild floral. Taste: Nice, medium bodied brew. Quite drinkable. Mild hops spice, with mostly a malt presence. Great deal for $3.99 , 7.2% abv, very drinkable bomber.
jerc (3330), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jan 8, 2009 2008-12-22. Crisp red brown body, decent beige head and lacing. Mild aroma of light grains and hops, muted fruit notes. (6+) Flavour is likewise, hops are mildly resiny, light bitterness throughout is briefly sharp. (6+) Average palate. Decent well made beer but a bit ho-hum for me today. Bottle from Consumers Beverage, Buffalo
Jmichael (606), Asheville, North Carolina, USA Jan 8, 2009 pours a bronw with mild light head. definite hidden complexiites, an interesting beer. alexanderj (1519), San Diego, California, USA Dec 26, 2008 Bottle, sampled at Christmas during family beer tasting. Dark brown in color with hints of red and a tan head. Aroma of caramel, fruit, toffee and perhaps nuts. Flavor was pretty clean with a nice blend of flavors. Cocoa, earth flavors, with toffee and caramel. Some orange like bitterness in the finish. Liked in more than I thought I would. Beardface (344), Eugene, Oregon, USA Dec 16, 2008 Pours dark brown with a medium tan head. Body is mainly a toffee type malt with some hoppy backing. A nice nutty flavor in there too, maybe chestnuts or hazelnuts. Reasonably well balanced. Kind of wish the Zappa beers were better overall but this one is at least solid. cbeers21 (480), Miami, Florida, USA Dec 15, 2008 Chestnut pour decent head. Sweetish body with roasted malts. Quietly smokey fruits are there as well as a biscuity quality. Not too impressionable, but drinkable for sure.
