Taste is rather hoppy for an APA, but that is to be expected with the high alcohol content. Citrusy taste is there as well. And some bitterness. Quite nice and the label is pretty funny. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 20, 2009 Bottle pours clear gold with small head, spotty lace. The aroma citrus. The flavor is a nice malty sweetness and citrus grapefruit overture with a nice and refreshing palate. Not bad. JCastner (108), New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 19, 2009 Pours a deep amber with a faint white head. A lot of carbonation. Aroma is of amber malt and American hops. Light body. Taste is first bitter with a dry unripe finish. High ABV for the style. With a slight bit more malt sweetness this would be a solid IPA. Actually better than I expected. beerbill (1966), Laurel, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 17, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours a crystal clear medium gold with a moderate white head that lasted until the last sip and left considerable foam on the glass. Pleasant aroma of grapefruit and not much else. The flavor is completely dominated by grapefruit hops, which are thankfully more fruity than excessively bitter. Don’t get me wrong, this beer has a bitter kick at the finish, but it is not that mouth-puckering white pith kind of bitterness. Some light sweetness accompanies and enhances the grapefruit flavor. This is an enjoyable, albeit one-dimensional beer. djd07 (749), Houston, Texas, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 11, 2009 Bottle as shown. Pours a copper golden with a small white head that diminshes quickly. The aroma is a floral hops with grapefruit and pine. Decent spotty lacing on the glass. The taste is a thin mouthfeel with a nice citrus hops and a nice bitter finish. Easy to drink a very good American pale ale from Lagunitas. joeneugs (341), Livermore, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Apr 4, 2009 My new favorite pale ale. It pours a golden pale yellow with a small dissapearing head. Fresh hop aroma of citrus fruit and grass. Very fresh flavor of citrus- grapefruit, lemon, and orange with a touch of caramel sweetness. Its not very complex or balanced, but it is very tasty and refreshing. It actually is more flavorful than their IPA. llcooldave (331), San Antonio, Texas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 2, 2009 Fruity hoppy aroma with banana and clove thrown in. Copper in appearance. Piney hops bitterness in flavor. Overall this is nice! I’ll have to buy more. ben4321 (1040), Rockville, Maryland, USA

Overall Impression:
This was really good for a Pale, had more flavor then most, and drank really nicely.
A little surprised its been rated so infrequently, as I got it in DC about 6 months ago, and its a Cali beer.
