Commercial Description:
This is not the original Pale Ale as brewed in far away 1993 in the back of the Old House of Richards Building in West Marin hamlet of Forest Knolls right next to little Lagunitas. It is way better. Back then the beer tasted like broccoli and kerosene and the carbonation ate right through and drained your stomach into your gut...

Pours an amber color with an off-white head. Nice citrus and pine hop aroma with some caramel malts. Flavor is decently hoppy at first with some sweet caramel malt in the middle and a decent bitter finish.

incredibly clean hops used in this one. I was getting alll citrus, but fresh orange citrus and no rind or skin peels or grapefruit. Well there was some grapefruit but it was all fresh grapefruit. Clean and refreshing, I could drink a gallon of this stuff and not be full. Very good beer. Don’t know if it’s better than Dogtown though...

Bottle. This beer smells like wet dog, really. Taste is pine, definitely more hops than SN pale ale.

Bottle. Poured a nice orange color with a thin white head. Aroma was grass, pine, and spruce hops. Flavor was mild bitters. Very well balanced beer. Finish was mildly bitter. Very good beer.

This is a flavorful Pale Ale, almost a weak IPA, but what does one expect from our friends at Lagunitas? Great piney hop aroma, nice pale body, tasty hops but not too bitter. If you love IPAs but want something a little lighter for a change, don’t hesitate!

RnH: can you say under-rated?! Pours a pale straw leaving a finger of dry white head... nose is strong hops. Taste is bright, some earthy bitters, light fruits, malts and sugars... actually hoppier than expected. Nice balance, strong and bitter yet light and refreshing.

Bottle. Pours a nice dark gold color with a decent, foamy, white head that lasts. Taste is of pine, hops, citrus and some malt. Has a nice pine and citrus aftertaste. Decent, slightly watery, body. Some bitterness in the finish. Similar aroma. An enjoyable beer that is offered at a decent price.

12oz bottle. Pours a hazy, bright orange color; off-white head with good retention and mixed-bubbled lacing; nice-looking pour. Aroma shows a good amount of orange and citrus bitterness, juicy hop character overall, and a fair amount of candied oranges; nicely resiny. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: this has a fair amount of heft for a pale ale; definitely hop forward, with a smooth orange bitterness and citrusy / herbal overtones; maltiness is quiet: some dried peaches and oranges; this also shows a fair amount of acidity; mouthwatering, juicy, solid. Medium finish: some toastiness appears alongside lasting orange and mineral bitterness.
