aspidites (1268), manteca, California, USA Mar 15, 2005 Brown in color but somewhat Amber in taste. Crystal and caramel malt forward. Toasted bread and earthy notes. Odd yeast character. Semi sweet round mouthfeel. Decent finish. jgb9348 (1817), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA Oct 10, 2004 Amber coloured body with a thin tan head. Aroma of caramel, malt and mushrooms. Light to Medium-bodied; Decent mild earthy flavours with some sweetness, but not much. Overall, not as great as expected, but good to try, as this is a rariety. Thanks very much to Phil (haddon90) who gave me this bottle long ago and I kept it for something special. I sampled this 65 cL bottle on 15-May-2004 at the May RB Party in Toronto, Ontario. beerhugger (541), Oshawa, Ontario, Canada Oct 4, 2004 Some spice and some sweet barleywine-like characteristics hit me from this basic brown brew. Seemed kinda like a nut-brown ale as I got into it - earthy and caramel and malty right through the slightly too sweet finish. Not bad - cheers Jeremy. Eyedrinkale (3102), Beer Town, New York, USA Jun 7, 2004 If I’m going to brew a brown, this is what I want it to taste like. This is a bottle of pure goodness. Nice sweet malt taste with an all so subtle hop bite. Yeast, bready, chewy and everything I love. I love you guys. mr_kimchee (1414), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 29, 2004 clear copper, white head. aroma of honey, earth, and toasted bready malt. flavour stars malty and sweet but pithy bitterness takes over a bit too quicky. not bad.
