| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 12, 2006 A nice Belgian brown... pours a clear brown with off-white head. Aroma of caramel, malt, and spicy (citrus?)hopping. A delicate palate, nicely caressing my senses. Flavor of very light malt and hop with hints of honey and touch of citrus. Belgian notes. Nice at 55-60F. Found it a touch lighter than I would have preferred. reebtogi (77), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 10, 2006 A nice reddish brown pour with a good head and decent carbonation. A little bit too sweet for my tastes. Not much in the way of hops either. A little yeasty, but OK otherwise. beerbill (1972), Laurel, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 3, 2006 Bottle. Pours a deep reddish brown with a bubbly white head that lasted through less than half the glass. Surprisingly light aroma - I was expecting more. Light flavors of caramel and plums. Light alcohol burn on the finish. Smooth and easy to drink, but by no means extraordinary. shadey (1501), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 20, 2006 Dark ruby and effervecent. Ring of creamy white head. Fruity and earthy with a decent amount of alcohol. Flavor is full and earthy with a good amount of alcohol. Nice full body, but a little too bubbly and sticky. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | May 1, 2006 IMO, it’s hard to call this a Belgian brown. A little bit like a brown, a little bit like a Belgian double, but the hops are American and the mouth feel is, well, too thick and cloying. Nose of sweet dried fruits and sweet toffee and American hops. Appearance is a wonderful reddish brown, clear, but with almost no head. Taste is sweet dried fruit, organge, sweet malt, alcohol and bubble gum. More hops than a Belgian brown, less hops than I would normally expect from Lagunitas. I found the mouth feel off-putting, thick and oily, without sufficient carbonation to offset. It’s ok ... more than just drinkable ... but hard to love. blueduk (118), Eugene, Oregon, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 29, 2006 The beer poured with a diminishing light-brown head. The body is a beautiful reddish brown with orange highlights. The scent of Belgian yeast appeared immediately - love that smell. Malt aromatics of caramel and nuts. Not much hop in the nose except some mild fruitiness. This is a full bodied beer which tastes more alcoholic than it is. The taste is more caramel and fruit, and maybe something like licorice. Belgian yeast is still prominent, which earns this beer a slightly higher score than it might deserve. The finish is slightly astringent, but not unpleasant. Skinnyviking (4170), Copenhagen, Denmark
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 17, 2006 Bottle. Light brown creamy and lasting head. Dark ´red unclear body. Cocoa caramel aroma. Smooth hops cocoa flavor. 11026 (1779), Alabama, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 8, 2006 Bottle from DarkElf. A clear, ruby brown color with and attractive light beige head that lingers and leaves nice lacing behind. Aroma is a a tad funky. Some bits of solvent and rubber (tires) mix with sweetish malt and some lightly fruity ester. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Flavor seems to fall flat. A touch peppery with a modest malt sweetness but really nothing to get excited about. Fair enough.
