| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 24, 2006 Clear brown body with a slightly reddish tint. Head size is large and frothy. Aroma is sugar, caramel, bread, and hints of spices and yeast. Flavor is much the same, fairly sugary caramel taste. While it’s not really flawed, nothing is memorable either. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 19, 2006 22oz. bottle, Autumn 2005 release. Slight but pleasant aroma, gently sweet with hints of freshly baked dark bread, brown sugar, cedar, raisin and light spices. Medium-dark red-brown color with orange highlights and a lasting, fine, slight head leaving scattered dots of lace. Flavor is fairly mild in character, bittersweet and lightly fruity to start, becoming maltier and more sugary throughout and seeing some yeast esters and faint bitterness on the finish, which also has late suggestions of orange peel and tea leaves, alcohol is also very faintly evident here. Palate is smooth, light and creamy, body is medium. Somewhat interesting but not nearly as distinctive as many other beers from Lagunitas. Papsoe (15109), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jan 17, 2006 (Bottle 65 cl) Beautiful, clear ruby red beer with a small, off-white head. Sweetish, malty aroma with a touch of yeast. Fairly full-bodied with lots of roasted malt and plenty of sweet caramel. Somewhat odd notes of overripe fruit make this unbalanced and flakey. Almost no bitterness. 160106 Lubiere (4552), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Light cherry malt aroma, faint and short, with more of a c-hop background. Sweet caramel malt in mouth, nutty notes, but not very Belgian....Russian River Beer Revival & Barbecue Cook-Off, August 20, 2005. erway (1002), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 12, 2006 Pours a deep clear brown with a thick tan head. Aroma is dried fruits, cloves, vanilla and cookie malts. The body is med-heavy. The flavors are med. sweet and cookie-like with a pleasing spice compexity mentioned in aroma. Finish is med. sweet but nicely balanced. I thought this was very enjoyable. sloth (1684), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 8, 2006 Fizzy, medium sized tan head with good retention, lace is stringy and somewhat coating. Clear brown color with an amber hue. Nose is delicate aromas of fruit and grain with a hint of chocolate. Soft palate, med/light body. A nice mix of flavors fruity, raisins, plum and figgy notes with glints of chocolate malt and pleasent spiceyness. Dry fruity finish. A nice enough brown ale. Thanks to SDbruboy for this tastey little brew. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jan 3, 2006 Another amazing effort from this brewery. Smooth and rich with that classic Belgian taste, but with an California twist, it still remains true to style but also very true to the way that Lagunitas put their twist of flavor and imparts uniqueness. SOme nice yeasty fresh bread notes along with an almost wine-esque mouthfeel very smooth and rich, with a nice mellow candi sugar flavor that really maks the alchohol component very well. Stcky finish and good right to the last drop
