Sweet brown sugar flavour, some spices. Weak hints of yeast in the aftertaste. Not that bad, but it feels more like a brown ale. oldrtybastrd (1801), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA

Flavor is to sweet for me, strong spice flavors. Didn’t care to much for this one. fatty (363), Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania, USA

Smells very malty and sugary. Tastes malty, lightly sweet, and alcoholic. This beer should get a little better warmer. beerbuzzmontreal (2916), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 29, 2005 Clear brown pour with a thin offwhite head. Ordinary aroma of dark malt and sweetness. The flavor feels also ordinary with its average dark malt, alcohol and fruits with a sweet finish. The body is light with an oily texture and medium carbonation. Average, too bad since it seemed like a good idea at first but it seems that it wasn’t properly executed. Goldorak (439), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 28, 2005 Translucent ruby red, the off-white head hanging off the edges of my glass was the only thing that seperated this one from cranberry juice.
A decent balance of sweetness, yeast spices and booze. The latter being a little bit solvent-like, but not harsh enough to lose my interest.
Roasted malt body that had just enough sugar, the alcohol gave it a dry finish, but the yeast was quite discreet, too much for this type of Beer if you ask me. However, the cocoa aftertaste was pleasing. Like most of the Lagunitas line, I’m glad I tried it, but it didn’t bowl me over. MartinT (5068), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 27, 2005 The Lure: Raisins and figs present a mostly sweet panorama. Some roasted malts protrude, but walk back slowly. Appetizing, yet somehow boring.
The Festivities: Caramel maltiness engulfs the figs. Low carbonation helps the fruity sweetness to bounce up, but this remains simple and subdued.
Transcendence: Another square building. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 25, 2005 Herbal, spicy hops, toasty bready malts and yeasty, lightly fruity notes blend nicely in the aroma. Clear, dark ruby brown with a low tan head that recedes to a lasting ring. Strong fruity flavour with sweet doughy marzipan and raisin flavours with fairly mild finishing bitterness that keeps it from being overly sweet. Medium body with lively effervesence that pleasures the tongue. Sampled on tap at Barcade with Olivier_MTL and Rastacouere.
