danielcurtis81 (879), San Diego, California, USA Mar 15, 2009 22 oz bomber. Fresh 2009. Pours a crystal clear copper with a small light tan head. Sweet fruit nose, lots of pineapple, mango scents. Flavors strong with the pineapple too, some banana too. Sweet but not to sticky sweet. Good caramel and vanilla flavors as it warms. Good brew! bconley (351), Fern Park, Florida, USA Mar 4, 2009 Had a fresh bottle...would like to have one that has aged for a while. Very sweet malts, not really sure if I remember the banana being there. Taste has caramel and toffee, with the sugar that was present in the smell. Quality. drjay44 (758), Salida, Colorado, USA Mar 3, 2009 22 oz bottle. Vintage "Twenty Aught-9". 11% ABV. I.B.U. 69.39. Pours a thickish head of good retention, with loads of lacing, over a clear mahogany body....nose is very sweet, with fruit banana, pineapple and a bit of pine....taste is very sweet malts with balancing hops barely holding them down, finish is hop bitterness with a lingering pineapple/pine finish. Mouthfeel is rich and chewy. This seems a little unbalanced tending toward the malt back bone, but then again it is very young. NomDeBeer (398), Maryland, USA Mar 3, 2009 Pours a very nice mahogany color with a very small head that does not last. Taste is crisp with notes of caramel, citrus hops, and maybe a little peat. Alcohol is noticeable in the aroma, but not so much in the flavor. Lively carbonation at first, but that eventually subsides. Full body without being sticky or syrupy. Good beer and drinkable. grandet (477), Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 27, 2009 Bottle from sam the beer man. Poured a hazy brown color with a small whit head. Very sweet aroma of raisons and other sweet fruit. Taste is very strong with lots of raison as well as other dark fruit. Not bad. IlanMan (816), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA Feb 26, 2009 Bottle. Had a light brown/golden pour. Had a sweet malt, light sour and malty aroma. Very big sweet malty taste with a full to medium body. Well balanced and fairly sweet. Good brew. ucusty (1871), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Feb 25, 2009 Vintage 07 or 08 im not sure. THanks to Hellbilly for this one! Clear garnet pour with a thin beige head and minimal spotty lace. Sweet malts, dark fruits, and brown sugar on the nose. Sticky mouth-feel, medium bodied. Caramel, toffee, dark fruits, and caramelized sugar krysztofar (344), belleville, Illinois, USA Feb 17, 2009 bomber. pours copper amber in color with a fluffy, thick, orangey head. toasty brown sugar nose, belies its supper malty base. no real hop aroma, is not what was expected. i was thinking big malt and sharp piney hop. thats not this one. it is really malty and strong. so i guess its barley wine. i think im drunk after half a glass...
