This beer pours a deep amber/red with a thin to no tan head. the aroma is msweet sugary malt, as is the taste. I actually lliked this one and I am not a fan of barlywines! This one was kinda mellow and not so malty overpowering like most. Cheers

a very hoppy barley wine, just the way i like it. almost like an IIPA. sticky and resiny. perhaps a little sprucey. an excellent choice. I’m never let down by Lagunitas

Bomber. Pours clear, but dark copper, almost brown. No real head to speak of, mostly a ring of off-white bubbles. Strong barley malt, alcohol, maple, hops, and cherry candy. Big, bold taste. Lots more hops than expected, balanced with a sweeter caramel malt. They typical Lagunitas sugar is there, but far less than usual. Sticky finish. Loved it.

Pours a dark maple color, a little thick with a sizable tan head. Smell is like strong barely malt, a little alcohol and hops. Taste is like a moderately sweet barely wine but with considerable bitterness. Mouth feel is slightly harsh. A warming, buring happens in the throat after the 4th sip. Finish is bitter-sweet malt and hops.

Bottle courtesy of BMan1113VR. I had heard good things about this beer but I must say WOW. For once this barley wine is very drinkable while still fresh. Thank god Lagunitas decided not to be cliche and over hop this BW. Pours a beautiful reddish copper color that appears to glow when the light hits it. The head is small when first poured but turns into a nice white rocky ring around the snifter. Very tall, I am impressed. Nose is very sweet, malty, and hoppy (but not overdone.) Also dry and somewhat caramel esque. Taste is all the same with a nice honey mouthfeel and lots of warming sweetness on the palate. Very well done, grade A and high marks. This is what a Barley wine should be!

Pours rusty-orange with a small yellowish head. A robust citrus hop smell. Decent lacing. First sip bites of bitter hops that is well balanced with a strong malt backbone. More malt comes through as it warms up and so does an unexpected oakish flavor? A great showing and a great value at under $4 bucks for a 22 oz. bomber.

I didn’t think this was one of the better barley wines out there. I was very pleased with the price though, for the kick I was getting. The flavor is not as full as it should be, in my opinion.
