Ungstrup (11164), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 30, 2007 Bottled. A hazy dark amber beer with a fast disappearing tan head. The aroma is sweet with powerful notes of caramel, but also lighter notes of malt. The flavor is sweet malty with powerful notes of caramel as well as lighter notes of alcohol, leading to a dry bitter caramel finish. The body is thick - somewhat like drinking caramel soup - if that exists. omhper (10456), Stockholm, Sweden Jun 13, 2006 [Bottled, thanks MrWalker!] Clear reddish amber, minimal head.Striking aroma of grapefruit and caramel. Sweet and full bodied with fairly soft mouthfeel. The malt flavour is more prominent than in most American barley wines, but there are a good amount of aromatic hops as well. A very solid and well made barley wine with some personality of its own. Papsoe (9999), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 27, 2007 (Bottle 65 cl) Slightly hazy, dark amber colour with a beige head.
