Nov 9, 2009 Sampled at Rattle n Hum. This beer put me slightly over the edge during a harmless after work tasting. Came recommended my CUJO. Amber with slight red tint with an off white head in appearance. Served far too cold! I tried to let it warm up a bit, but I was too thirsty. Generous aroma that is bready, spicey, malty, and sugary. Really is a staple Barley Wine... rich dark fruits, sherry, esters, rich brown sugars 3.75

Nov 18, 2008 Draught @ Kahootz - Pours an ambery orange with a decent off white head, aroma is malt and booze above all, on second inspection, I get caramel and dried figs/fruit as well...flavour is bold, sticky honey, citrus, bit of spice, warming alcohol, this really needs to be tasted over a period of time, very enjoyable...

Aug 31, 2008 22oz bottle. Beautiful color, a dark ruby/copper color. It had a nice white head as well, clung to the glass all the way down. Smelled like toffee and raisens. Nice little hop bitterness to it initially and then it just layed softly on the tongue, delicious.

Apr 23, 2008 im surprised that i was able to get this 2008 version at fred meyers in bremerton.
pours a clear ruby-brown with a large yellowish head that leaves rather quickly but leaves a good lacing.
smell of malts, caramel, some hops, touch of fruit.
taste is creamy, malt, caramel, some spice, somewhat sweet (fruity) and ends nicely bitter, excellent balance.
overall im quite impressed, maybe just a little on the sweet side for me.

Mar 27, 2008 22 oz bottle via Roth’s. Pours a clear dark reddish brown with an average sized beige head. Nose is candyish, alcoholic, with toffee. Tastes pretty close to what i got from the aroma. Starts and ends very sweet, with some dark currants, molasses, toffee, a bit of roastiness, and some pine/citrus hops. Finish and aftertaste are bittersweet, almost cloying but with just enough bitterness to offset it in the very end. Body is full, mouth-feel syrupy, carbonation is just right. An awesome barleywine, one of the best i have had.
