| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Mar 27, 2008 22 oz bottle via Roth’s. Pours a clear dark reddish brown with an average sized beige head. Nose is candyish, alcoholic, with toffee. Tastes pretty close to what i got from the aroma. Starts and ends very sweet, with some dark currants, molasses, toffee, a bit of roastiness, and some pine/citrus hops. Finish and aftertaste are bittersweet, almost cloying but with just enough bitterness to offset it in the very end. Body is full, mouth-feel syrupy, carbonation is just right. An awesome barleywine, one of the best i have had. Reid (1093), Salem, Oregon, USA

Nice bright amber almost deep red beer..tiny head that goes fast..some lace.
Very earthy aroma..malts hops and a smell like freshly dug soil..i kid you not!,..i like it.
Tste is pretty sweet..malt dominated..but later a liquorcy alcoholic heat..and a good bitterness appear.
Pretty good on the tongue..very invigorating..great after taste.
This is a nice barleywine..its drinkable..but onlt one bottle at a sitting. BREWMUSKCLES (1092), New Jersey, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Jul 4, 2008 it should be news to very few that this brew would have a wonderful fragrant and inticing taste profile. i mean where do you consistantly find a better malt character in any brewer. slick velvet and candy sweet with everything you want in a malt brew and more. so well balanced and my bottle had zero broomstraw attitude. just superfresh and clean tasting aged malt. alcohol taste that doesnt bother. pleased and still slightly surprised that ths hop character is a little mute. but again we do have a wonderfully complex and tasty brew with find body very good balance and fine sipping warmth even on a warm day. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 15, 2007 Here is an extremely flavorful brew. Tons of malt and some hops in the aroma. Alcohol is apparent but in a good way. Heavy body but still goes down easy. MAP (1089), Lakewood, Ohio, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jun 11, 2005 Many thaniks to Larry Pitonka for the bomber. Very classy crisp red body with a thin head to it. Quite the attractive beer. Aroma gives me a big whiff of the pleasentres of barleywines; heavy enough malt character it makes my back hurt, strong citrus profile that could hurt a small child. Flavor is just as large, heafty in all departments. There is a strong fruity, almost english strong ale presence, but its too robust to be one. It helps develope that sense from the large amount of hops presence. I’ve had hoppier beers, but you can only appriciate so much. This beer seems to bring it right up to the brink. Again, thanks for the beer André. MullMan (1086), Bloomfield, New Jersey, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 10, 2008 Pours a clear copper with a smallish off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit, raisin, cherry and caramel. Flavor is caramel, raisin, plum, cherry and some grapefruit. Slight alcohol warming. Medium-full body, sticky texture. Less hoppy than most American barleywines which is more true to style.
