| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Feb 9, 2003 Draft 1999 vintage. Could taste the aging. Thick and syrupy, not unlike a Thomas Hardy's in a way. I don't know what a fresh bottled one would be like, but this is very good stuff. jimbowood (956), Athens, Georgia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 14, 2006 Bottle. A nice version of the style w/ a slant towards the hoppy side. Not hoppy like Bigfoot, more well balanced, but a definite West Coast version of the style. stefanje (948), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 20, 2008 22 oz bottle from Bev4less in Santee. Pours a translucent amber brown with a medium beige head. The aroma is strong with caramel, lightly roasted malts, dates, plums and hops. The flavor is similar to the aroma, with the biter hops taking on a more pronounced role. The mouthfeel is malty full and satisfying. The finish is long and biter. Overall: If you are in the mood for a big biter barley wine, then this is a good choice. Recommended. Rockinout (946), Kent, Ohio, USA
