2002 version. Medium amber color. Medium head. Aroma is malts and nuts. A full bodied Barley wine. Malts are nutty and sweet, Hops are slightly bitter and somewhat citrusy. Well balanced. Very smooth. Body is very full and thick. Kind of chewy. Finishes very well. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is slightly dry. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Brown body, small khaki head. Sweetish aroma of gingerbread and rye, malt, muted dark sugar notes. Sweet malt flavour, more prominent dark sugars with light hop bitterness that accents the dry caramel notes nicely. The dryness keeps it from becoming cloying. Medium palate (3+). Quite nice! 7+/3/9/3+/17-18

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a transparent strongly carbonated brown colored body and thick foamy lacing. The mild aroma was malt hop. The semi-thick mouth feel was tingly at the start with a mellow finish. The balanced flavor contained notes of malt hops caramel and mildly vinous. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

Bottle. Small beige fizzy head that mostly diminished. Good lacing to be observed. Light cloudy body with an amber color. Good mix of hop and malt in the aroma. Grapefruit, pine, elderflower, rye bread, caramel, liquorish. Medium to full bodied with an average carbonation and a dry texture. Light alcohol can be felt over the palate. Moderated bitter hoppy flavor with good balancing sweet notes. Good dry and bitter finish.

Bottle at home - shared with Mette. Clear red/amber/orange - white head. High sweetness, roasted, bisquit, nice hoppy, raisins, alcohol, syrup. Nice - but a bit heavy and too much, drink it cold !!!

Draft pours an amber body with a tan head. Grapefruit, sweet caramel, earthy hop character with over ripe fruit and a bitter finish.

"Twenty ’Aught-8’ Bottle’. Burnt orange beer with an initial cover that dies away quickly. The aroma is orange-soapy, but hints at the high gravity. Once you sip this, there’s no doubt that there’s an alcohol kick lingering here ... this goes down your gullet burning like heated oil. Once you get past that, you start to detect the flavors of rich orange, grape, and smooth sugary malt. Beautiful brew. (#3443, 5/1/2008)

Bottle@VinensVerden,Odense. Pours deep brown with a creamy off white head. Super sweet malty aroma, caramel & bread. Oily, slick, soft & smooth. Warmth from alcohol. Good dose of American hops. Nice!
