| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 31, 2008 Bottle. Small smooth tan head that mostly expired, fair amount of lacing, transparent, fizzy, lively, fast rising carbonation, and a reddish orange hue. The aroma was malty, caramel, sweet, hints of chocolate and toffee, hops, some pine and citrus. The flavor was malt, caramel, hint of chocolate, hoppy, citrus, lightly bitter, and sweet. Fairly smooth mouthfeel and medium bodied. Very quaffable, easy to drink, nice balance, and worthy of a try. TheBeerGod (3157), Newport News, Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 10, 2008 Bottle. Dark copper pour. Small dense tan head. Nose is fruity, caramel, citrusy hops, sweet malts, and dark fruits. Taste is citrusy hops, some grapefruit, sweet malts, chewy caramel, dark, ripe fruits and hint of rum cake. Body is full and thick with creamy carbonation. Rather chewy for a barleywine. Bit if lingering bitterness to this. The finish brings forth more grapefruit, big caramel, sweet malts, and cocoa. Some dark fruits notes come through here as well. Very tasty barleywine! KnutAlbert (3154), Oslo, Norway

Burned caramel, raisins. Well balanced in its extremeness, full sweet malt playing up to the hops that work hard to add dryness. Honey, molasses, and it certainly needed the hoppiness it got. PorterPounder (3138), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
