22-oz bottle purchased at Liquor Max in Loveland, CO. Pours clear tawny with an average, rocky, light brown head, somewhat lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel, toffee), heavy hops (perfume, resin), average yeast (dough) with notes of dates, apple, pear, and brown sugar. Full bodied, sticky texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, heavy sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness.

Draft @ Blind Tiger. Amber in color with decent head. Not as sweet as the Brown Sugga, but packs a punch. Taste mostly molasses and light caramel. Good but not great.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, tupalev, jerc & mabel -- my bottle courtesy of acertain. 2006 bottle. Pours a clear amber-orange with a spare diminishing off-white head. Very fruity aroma with caramel malt, wood, brown sugar, hops and alcohol -- I love it! Flavour is sweet and woody with caramel malt, brown sugar, alcohol and hops -- very tasty. Medium bodied. Wow, this is an awesome Barley Wine!

Bottle. Small smooth tan head that mostly expired, fair amount of lacing, transparent, fizzy, lively, fast rising carbonation, and a reddish orange hue. The aroma was malty, caramel, sweet, hints of chocolate and toffee, hops, some pine and citrus. The flavor was malt, caramel, hint of chocolate, hoppy, citrus, lightly bitter, and sweet. Fairly smooth mouthfeel and medium bodied. Very quaffable, easy to drink, nice balance, and worthy of a try.

Bottle. Dark copper pour. Small dense tan head. Nose is fruity, caramel, citrusy hops, sweet malts, and dark fruits. Taste is citrusy hops, some grapefruit, sweet malts, chewy caramel, dark, ripe fruits and hint of rum cake. Body is full and thick with creamy carbonation. Rather chewy for a barleywine. Bit if lingering bitterness to this. The finish brings forth more grapefruit, big caramel, sweet malts, and cocoa. Some dark fruits notes come through here as well. Very tasty barleywine!

Bottle kindly shared by grOve. Burned caramel, raisins. Well balanced in its extremeness, full sweet malt playing up to the hops that work hard to add dryness. Honey, molasses, and it certainly needed the hoppiness it got.

Brandon, Fl. - Kingdom Liquors - 22 oz bomber. Medium copper pour, sticky khaki-colored head. Fresh, fragrant aroma, floral notes, sticky pine sap and cotton candy. Juicy flavor, fresh citrus, apricots, caramel, candied sugar and an underlying syrupy maltiness. Thick, sticky - in a good way - mouthfeel. Lagunitas delivers again.
