Sep 15, 2008 Bottled. Burgundy coloured. Unclear. Dense light brown head. Sweetness, alcohol, prunes, spice and light dustyness in the aroma. Flavour is full of alcohol, prunes, ripe fruits, alcohol, spices, light caramel and sweetness. Medium to full bodied. Is good bitter in the end and has a pleasant burning on the lips in the late stages of the beer. Just my kind of beer, which I could drink again and again.

May 23, 2008 poured a nice mahogany color with very thin off white head. The had dissipated rather fast leaving a beautiful almost cognac like presence. Aroma was a mix of sweet caramel notes and some leather notes. A hint of oak. Flavor was rich sweet malts, pine-like hops and a kick ass alcohol note to boot. A bit thin on the palate, but still very good.

Oct 13, 2003 Yet another barleywine that falls into a category that I like to call a breakfast beer. This one has a nice woody, maple syrup like quality to it. The aroma is is slightly roasted and sweet while being extremely complex. Lots of flavors come out but mostly caramel and maple, with some cinnamon notes as well. Very smooth and mellow in the finish, tasty.

Aug 10, 2008 Solid barleywine with a strong floral and dark malt nose. This is its finest characteristic. Otherwise this beer does extremely well, but not quite up to the aroma’s task.

Jul 14, 2006 Bottle. A nice version of the style w/ a slant towards the hoppy side. Not hoppy like Bigfoot, more well balanced, but a definite West Coast version of the style.

Jun 1, 2009 Overall a great beer. Nose is sweet malt and caramel. The palate is thick and creamy, with a smooth mouth coating property.

Big malty aromas of carmel and toffee. Citrusy hop aromas, too.
Medium coppery red, tan head that collapses quickly but leaves a nice ring of foam at the edge of the glass
Rich, malty start with citusry, piney hop character. sweet almost cloying finish.
Full body, light-med carbonation. Sticky
Very nice barleywine. a touch on the sticky side, would be nice to be a touch more attenuated.

May 20, 2006 Nice ruby body, minimal tan head. Awesome aroma, yeast is pronounced, caramel malts also. Great body, typical taste of a barley wine, nice malt accents, some fruit is evident as well. Green grass in the end, some light straw as well. Very nice.
