| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 12, 2003 Aroma is mostly hops, ruby red/copper color, normal minimal head for a barleywine. Flavor is quite smooth, no harsh alcohols and nicely balanced malts and bitters. Mouthfeel is quite thick, coats my throat. Overall a very drinkable barleywine but nothing really jumps out at me to impress me. Just all around very smooth, finely brewed beer. omhper (12283), Stockholm, Sweden

Sweet and full bodied with fairly soft mouthfeel. The malt flavour is more prominent than in most American barley wines, but there are a good amount of aromatic hops as well. A very solid and well made barley wine with some personality of its own. elnadeau (786), Laguna Niguel, California, USA

Although it lacked any foam at all, it had such a gorgeous orange amber color I rated the apperance higher. Nice malty aroma, alcohol whiffs up as well. A nice syrupy sweet malty flavor with a decent balance of bitter, quite easy going down, though you know it has a kick. pilsnerrogge (1791), Finspång, Sweden

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 2, 2004 Bottle. A dark amber color with a little bit of red and a beige head that quickly falls. Hops make a great flavor thats backed up with a little caramel sweetness finishing with a mild pine hop bitterness. Aroma isn't overly strong, but there's an earthy hopiness to it. At first sip it feels like a heavy body, but its not thick at all. Medium finish that leaves yiou wanting more. Very good beer that hides it's alcohol until about half bottle. and then just adds a warming touch. Very nice all-round balance on a well made beer. kmeves (1081), Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA

Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit, raisin, cherry and caramel. Flavor is caramel, raisin, plum, cherry and some grapefruit. Slight alcohol warming. Medium-full body, sticky texture. Less hoppy than most American barleywines which is more true to style. Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA

Candy apple aroma-piney hops, green apples. The flavors here are complex and almost too sweet. cinnamon, piney hops, and sweet malts. kinda lite on the body. unique, novel, but not a great contender in the BW family. kinda unbalanced, but not in a really bad way.
