| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 10, 2009 This beer has travelled a long way to get to Hamilton, New Zealand. It shows a bit, but there’s still an excellent beer here. For a start, it’s freaking beautiful in the glass. Glowing amber/orange, with a fluffy white head. The aroma exuding from the head is a lovely mix of grapefruit and oranges. The flavour is a little sickly sweet, and this is where I think the age and distance is showing a bit. Under the sweetness is a really nice mix of marmalade, toffee, and citrus. There’s a biting bitterness which builds up over the course of a pint. Great beer, can’t wait to try it fresh on tap in the US. brewski519 (419), Morrisville, North Carolina, USA

Intense grapefruit aroma along with hops, malt, caramel and flowers. Taste of grapefruit, orange, hops and malt. This beer certainly comes with the trademark Lagunitas grapefruit and hops kick. Solid Imperial IPA - glad I was able to track this brew down. Next time I will buy a few of them. altabessie (5), Lisle, Illinois, USA does not count | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 6, 2009 For a 100 plus IBU beer it was well balanced. Hoppy but not over the top like I thought it would be. good stuff FoolishMortal (965), San Diego, California, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 4, 2009 Poured a orange/yellow with a solid white head. I believe I read something about Hop Stoopid using hop extract and not actual hops in the production of the beer. True or not this was a very hoppy and slightly malty IIPA. I did feel though that the hops part of it felt a little artificial hence the 7 on flavor. Still a nice beer to knock back with some bbq going on.
