Pous a beautiful bronze with a small white head that dies slowly. Actually quite gorgeous the way the light catches it. The aroma isn’t terribly complex, but has an excellent nose-feel of fresh hops, pine, and citrus. I am a little skeptical, thinking maybe it won’t be full-bodied for me. It turns out to be only medium bodied, which is a light flaw, but it covers it up with such a bitter hop presence. It really is not for the faint of heart, with all 100+ IBU’s showing. Not bad at all for the 5 or 6 bucks I spent on this bomber.

Aroma of dry hops, yeast, bread, cinnamon, vanilla, and barley. Pourous, clean mouthfeel with an extremely passive, mildly crisp body. Great Imperial IPA. 5000 (2579), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 19, 2009 Bottle:   Bright Amber in color, very minor haze, batter like head, off-white, big and frothy, moderate lacing.   Resiny nose, hops and very slight pine.   Also has a malt presense to it.   Quite resiny on the tongue,
piney, with not a hell of a lot of bitterness but it does have quite a bit of hop flavor.   Certainly bigger than your average IPA, but not as Malty as I prefer.   However, its not biting at all, has very good hop flavor, it is
quite resiny, with hints of pine, all while remaining quite well balanced.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Resiny finish, very clean, well in a hop sorta way.   Good, quite good actually.   For not being as
Malty as I like, it was rather well balanced for an IIPA.   Hop Heads will like this one.   I tend to prefer ones that lean towards Barley Wine, but this one was likely truer to style.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 17, 2009 Clear golden yellow with a medium off-white head, sudsy, moderately dissipating and some lacing. Aroma of resinous, woodsy and citrus hops – west coast IPA all the way with enough caramel and malt to back it up. Taste of resinous hops, mild floral hops, crystal malt, mild citrus. Finishes up with moderate bitterness and mild warming and some orange. Nice but not stellar – and nicely priced. dwaggs2 (560), Lee’s Summit, Missouri, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 17, 2009 Bottle. Poured a cloudy orange color with a two finger white head that lasts a while. Aroma was floral hops, fruity aromas, and grass. Flavor was subtle hops, floral notes. Aftertaste was mild bitters. Plenty of lacing left by this beer. Very big and aggressive. Yummy. jsquire (2113), St. Marys, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 17, 2009 Deep golden color out of the bottle with a thin, off white head. Big sweet hoppy nose of sharp grapefruit rind and hop resin. Flavor is dominated by the hop resin, with candied grape fruit rind, apple sauce, and a bready malt underneath. Thick, syrupy mouthfeel with some honey sweetness. Long resin finish. gringo332 (244), Richardson, Texas, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 12, 2009 22oz bottle. Pours a bright golden color with an off white frothy head. Aroma of grapefruit, orangepeel, pine, and wood. Up front you get some caramel and a little biscuit, but then the big hops take over. Mid palate through you get a lot of pine with some citrus bitterness as well. Some alcohol and warmth in the finish. Moderate carbonation and a clean crisp finish. chimpscampee (566), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

Sampled so long ago I cant recall if actually had any farmhouse funkiness-- just recall being impressed. frizzzzle (70), Overland Park, Kansas, USA

Pours a clear, light amber color with a foamy head about 1cm tall. Head disappears quickly leaving a spotty film of bubbles. Lots of crisp, flowery bitterness, balanced with a sticky, sugary sweetness in the background. Real bitterness on the finish. Leaves a sticky citrus flavor on the back of my tongue. Delicious.
