Gusler (2656), Tucson, Arizona, USA Nov 25, 2007 On Tap @ Papago
The beer resides a clear gold with a portly creamy white head that fades leaving the lace to form a thin veil upon the glass. Nose has a fair to middling malt aroma, slight hint of hops, citrus like crispness, start is somewhat sweet, with a touch of bitterness at the back, top is light to moderate in feel. Finish has a prickly acidity, the hops understated but present with a sour and dry aftertaste, seems to pick up on all fronts as it warms to the glass and room, fair drinking beer, certainly not as good as expected from “Lagunitas”!
Haslinger (450), Syracuse, New York, USA Jul 13, 2008 Sampled at Empire State Brew fest in Syracuse. Spice great taste, light and not filling. Would buy again if it were available around this area. jsquire (1848), St. Marys, Ohio, USA Jul 13, 2008 Golden colored beer with a thin white head. Not much to the nose but I did get some spice. Flavors included orange peel, apple juice, water and some soap. This may have suffered from following the Southhampton Grand Cru, but it seemed an underwhelmed beer. Aquilo (138), California, USA Jul 12, 2008 Very clear apple cider yellow with a small white head. Aroma is grassy and fruity at the same time. Smells like fresh waffles and watermelon. Flavor is weak and disappointing. Just water and. . . I don’t know, hay or something. Still, it doesn’t taste horrible. BlackForestCO (478), Fort Collins and Black Forest, Colorado, USA Jul 4, 2008 Bottle thanks to PharmicistRick. Poured a clear golden color with a moderate white head that left some lacing. Aroma is dull, with some light pilsner malt and some yeast. Bland, smooth entry with some light citrus and a light yeasty touch compose the flavor. No saison funk, and none of the dryness saisons are known for. A bit disappointing, especially considering how solid most of Lagunitas brews are. highibus (217), Vail, Arizona, USA Jul 3, 2008 light straw with white head. no real aroma. okay for a saison but nothing special not my fav style without something else going on.
