Citrus hop aroma hits you as you open the bottle. Amber pour with thick white head. After the drink, the glass was completely laced. The hoppiness works so well with the malt sweetness. It leaves a nice mouthfeel. I could/would like to get used to this beer. To bad it is a limited release.

Pours deep copper with a white modest head. Fair amount of lacings. Nice butterscotch and floral hop aroma. Taste is candy sweet with a big bitter hop partner. Mouthfeel is somewhat thick and has a good amount of pink grapefruit on the back of the tongue. Carbonation is minimal. A trace of alcohol in the taste but pretty well hidden for the 9%abv. Has some scottish ale qualities. All too drinkable. Not a style I would drink frequently but nice for a change.

12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Bright copper color with a hazy body. Ecru head leaves some decent lacing. Hoppy aroma with notes of lemon meringue, grapefruit, and brown sugar. Flavor is sweet with lots of maple syrup and pink grapefruit. Moderate bitterness and some astringency. Body is medium-full with a soft carbonation. Not as hoppy or bitter as advertised.

~Pours a dark amber color with small brown head. ~Light citrusy scent with malts and alcohol, some corriander. ~Burnt malt, biscuity flavor, some bitterness. Hides alcohol well. ~Medium feel. Bitter finish. ~This is a dangerous one. Can’t even detect alcohol in taste.

12oz bottle. Pours amber with a frothy beige head. Aroma is of sweet hops, citrus, caramel, malt, and pine. Taste is of sweet and oily hops, caramel, acidic citrus, and pine. Has a nice caramel malt backbone that evens out the beer quite nicely. Lingering piney taste. Mouthfeel is light and sticky. An easy drinker. Finish is all sticky hops and citrus. A bitter, yet enjoyable brew.

12 oz bottle from Beverages4less in Santee. Copper with a light, off white head. Nose is sweet and stinky hops. Bit of funk and grapefruit. Taste is sharp and sweet. More of the nose. Definitely a cousin or step-brother of Hop Stoopid. Therefore, I liked it a bunch. Long lingering aftertaste.

Appearance: Pours a ruby/amber with much clarity. Sitting atop is a 1 inch tall dense, foamy head. Aroma: Piney and grapefuit-like hops blast your nose as soon as you crack the bottle open. Upon further review, I found some perfume mixed in with the grapefruit and pine. Taste: Malty sweetness perfectly mixed with juicy, citrusy hops. The beer ends with some more sweetness, then some bitter hops that linger well past the sip. Mouthfeel: Creamy, juicy and sticky. Overall: This is a well made beer, with a high level of hops, that in my opinion, didn’t make it overdone. Another creation by Lagunitas that doesn’t necessarily fit a beer style or category.

Bottle at Flying Saucer, Houston. Pours an average amber with a lifeless body. Aroma is grapefruit, hops, and a touch of tangerine. Flavor is an initial rush of grapefruit and hops, but it tapers off into a floral copper taste. Average mouthfeel. If not for the tapering of taste, it would rock.
