This ale smells of great clean hops, but with a perfect balance of malt. Taste is great. Again balance being the key here. Lagunitas Is a great brewery and this is another great offering!!! | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 30, 2009 On tap. Poured a clear, dark amber color with a short white head. Spotty lacing. The aroma was well balanced between sweet malts and nice citrusy hops. A little roasty smokiness too. The flavor is brown sugar, roasted malt, smoke, citrus and floral hops. Nice mouthfeel. Medium bodied, succinct finish. Drinkable. Relatively high alcohol content is well hidden. thebeeve (6), Austin, Texas, USA does not count | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 29, 2009 This stuff is extremely tasty. Almost perfect. My only "complaint" is the 9% alcohol level. Ouch. It doesn’t taste that strong, I could easily drink more of this stuff than advisable. kidmartinek (980), austin, Texas, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Mar 29, 2009 Fugggg. 9.03% a clearly visible see-through amber beer with a very thin head and loads of bubbles. Aromatic hops presence that turns up the corners of the mouth. Flavor is like a bouquet of hop flowers bursting in your mouth, but tame wnough not to cause discomfort or rejection. Sweet release. There might be some malt in there on the finish. Definatley a shutdown on the tastebuds. Mouthfeel is velvety. The stuff is dangerously too smooth to drink regularly. sbroome (73), Burnsville, Minnesota, USA

Good, but not great. ansermadide (512), Kyle, Texas, USA

This is a fun, comfortable, very pleasing beer to drink. I can’t get enough of it.
