Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy amber reddish color with a small off-white head. Malty hoppy bitter citrus and grapefruit aroma with some hints of caramel. Malty hoppy caramel flavor. Malty and very bitter hoppy finish with a long bitter aftertaste.

This indeed was a strong ale. Very powerful, full of lots of sweet malted flavor, caramel as well. Nice big head very sweet, and a beautiful copper body. Verry smooth in taste, a great bit full mouthfeel and finishes very soft.

Bottle 66cl @ home.
Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate to light heavy hoppy, pine, orange, citrus shell. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (220408)

22oz bottle. Poured deep brown-amber with a moderate sized off-white head. Aroma of earthy, piney hops with some caramel and a hint of cocoa. Flavor begins sweet with big caramel malt and toffee, which is soon joined by big grapefruity hops. Not bad, probably the most I’ve enjoyed a Lagunitas beer.

Bottle pours cloudy amber brown with an average head. Lots of floaties! Heavy molasses aroma with some nuttyness. A hint of grapefruit? The flavor is sweet with hints of caramel/candy. Lively bitter finish that sticks to the mouth. Not bad but I think my bottle as past its prime.

Bottle, 22oz. It pours a hazy, golden body with a dense, beige head. Lovely beef-stock aroma, malty, caramelly, sweetish and with a lovely hoppyness. Malty and sweet flavor, pine and resin also playing a major part, nice bitterness, and some beef-stock notes. Full to medium body. So bitter it almost feels stinging in the mouth. Long, piney and resiny finish. Love the hop-profile in this one, and it’s sort of balanced as well, with all its maltyness. (080314)
