Copper with fluffy firm beige head...on the nose, a perfect hop-malt balance...bitter, but creamy...grapefruit, spicy pine flavor and a lingering finish....alcohol disguised well....the malts hold on to the citrus flavors and don’t let go...this brew is well balanced...strong citrus bitter finish....a little sweetness in the mix, reminds me of a candy corn...nice ass lacing!

I enjoyed this one quite a bit! Initial nose is a ball full of hops! Strongly perfumed and floral, moderately soapy, maybe sweaty, with some grapefruit rind. Flavor peppered with spicy resiny hops and a big rounded sweet caramel presence. Clean fermentation. Strongly bitter, resiny finish. Full tingly palate. Appealing red-amber color with large head, prominent lacing.

Another nice Lagunitas. A rich and malty strong ale. We just had it with some pasta and meatballs (take that, Bobby Flay). This beer is full and lovely. I really don’t understand how California brewers get it so right, and St Louis brewers get it so wrong. Welcome to the big league, Missour-ah.

65 cl. Bottle. Clear amber colour with a little white head. Great aroma of fresh hops, notes of peach, grapefruit and caramel. Flavour of burned caramel, sweet malt and with a quite big portion of high alpha hops. Ends up bitter and with a warm feeling from the alcohol.

Bottle. Pours a brownish copper color with a medium sized head. Aromas are of pine and grapefruit hops presence with a bit of a malty sweetness. Like many Lagunitas offerings, the hops presence dominates the beer, and it seems to be the same mix of California hops with their pine/resin/grapefruit that is common to their products. The malt presence in this one is a little fuller and counterbalances the hops well. It offers a nice caramel backbone that supports the bitter hops bite.

Well, if the length of the name has anything to do with the beer, it should be great? lol The beer makes good its escape from the 22 ounce bottle a cloudless burnished copper, the head perfection, the color light tan and the texture creamy, upon its evitable demise, the lace forms a thick glutinous sheet to obfuscate the glass. Nose is chockablock with the hop flowery aroma, sweet malt supports the hops, hints of caramel, appetizing, nay mouth watering I say. Start has a pleasant malt profile, sweet with a definite hop spicy bitterness at the back, top is middling to full in its feel to the palate. Finish continues the big hop spicy bite, the acidity customary, the aftertaste dry as a bleached desert bone, my oh my if this ain’t a great beer, then I’m a teetotaler, and we know that ain’t so. lol

Sampled at the Newtown Brewfest 07 with Stegosaurus. I asked the guy to pur just a spasl to sample this one and he said when you come to my tent I fill it up all the way or I don’t fill it at all. I am glad he did because this kicked ass. Bronze pour with billowy head Wood, hop and sweet caramel aroma. Roasty / hoppy mouthul with a real good claen finish. REAL GOOD.
