| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 22, 2007 Amber body, off-white head with some lacing, mild hops and some sweet malt in the nose. This is 9.9%? Hides it well. Moderate bitterness on a semi-sweet base; does not blow me away. LinusStick (1852), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 22, 2007 Tastes like a less carbonated Arrogant Bastard. Aroma of hops and malt...sweet malt. Pour was a dark orange with no head. Taste was sweet malt in the beginning. Ginger and butter with sugar on the swallow, then piney hops in the aftertaste and on down the throat. This is like any other ASA. SuzyGreenberg (1408), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 21, 2007 22 oz. bottle - pours clear amber with 1/2 lingering light tan head; mild aromas are sweet and piney; drinks smooth and not as bitter as expected, though that comes out more after a few sips SSSteve (2104), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jun 21, 2007 brown/orange with a medium sized off-white head. hop aroma. these guys are way too crazy about their hops man! bitter, pine, soap, lemon, alcohol flavor. dry finish. another overly hopped, boozy lagunitas beer...whats new. aggravating. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 20, 2007 22 oz bottle via Roth’s. Pours a clear dark copper with an average beige head. Not getting much from the nose here, just a moderate amount of nice floral hops. Taste starts a little sweet, there is a solid caramel malt backbone, but it quickly turns to the hops and is all about the hops. Grapefruit, pine, even some earthy hops carry through to the finish and the pine & grapefruit lingers in the aftertaste for quite some time. Medium body, moderate carbonation. 10% abv hidden quite well under all the hops. jlf278 (255), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jun 19, 2007 Very beautiful cascading reddish amber. Lots of hops, like a Double IPA. Bitterness swells up and stays around. Very tasty brew, lots of flavors hard to pick out. Creamy palate, very full bodied. Real nice job, impressive considering how much hops and alcohol must be packed into this. TheBeerOrg (1589), Kentucky, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 19, 2007 Pours reddish amber with a thin well-maintained light tan headiness. Aroma of caramel, sweet grapefruit, and hop-infused toffee. Taste is hoppy, resinous, with notes of caramel and toffee. Mouthfeel is full bodied and slightly resinous but the beer is not cloying due to the good attenuation. Better attenuated than most Lagunitas offerings. After reading the story of this beer, I will be supporting Lagunitas even more!
