Oct 1, 2007 Bottled. A deep red beer with a medium tan head. The aroma is sweet with notes of both malt, caramel, alcohol, grapefruit, and brown sugar. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel and grapefruit, leading to a very bitter grapefruity finish with a hop bite.

May 16, 2006 Draught: Archer Ale House, Bellingham, WA. Bright copper colour. The aroma is slightly floral with brown sugar notes and woody hoppiness. Bitter, woody hop character with slightly chewy brown sugar malts. The finish is a bit astringent and alcoholic. Not really sure where they’re going with this. It shows me nothing new and isn’t particularly palatable. These flavours and aromas are better served as instruments in an orchestra rather than being the whole band.

Jul 5, 2007 Nice amber color, hazy. Very good malt, both the aroma and flavor; strong mouthfeel, just showing some alcohol, extreme but well balanced. Good hopping. Very good.
