Bottle 0,5 l. Clear golden amber, small head. Nose has some mämmi in there, mostly regular malts with maybe some liqourice. Flavor is a bit like amber ale or a light dunkel with an interesting twist in the end which does resemble mämmi/malts. Not a bad one, quite balanced. With a different label/name this might be more than just a curiousity.

courtesy of oh6gdx - clear amber colour, no foam left; aroma of flowers, mint and caramel; moderate malt body, sweet with some tartness; short and slightly dry earthy and flowery finish

Draught (Helsinki Beer Festival 2009) - Copper brown in colour. Fruity aroma with hints of Dundee cake. Fruity and slightly hoppy taste with raisins and other dried fruits.

HBF09 Not too enjoyable, but interesting and points for trying. metallic malty and bready - rhy. Not even close to Mämmi dessert. something unpleasant.

Bottled (BB 11/2009). Thanks oh6gdx. Interesting innovation from Laitila - Easter beer brewed with traditional Finnish easter food, mämmi (memma). Clear amber color, small beige head. Metallic, bready malty nose with some sweetness in it too. Malty and grainy flavor with hints of rye and light caramelly note. No mämmi found. Malty aftertaste. Taste is actually closer to Finnish main stream pale lagers than sweeter viennas.

0.5 l bottle, thanks Hannu N! Amber color with quickly vanishing head. Sweetish malty aroma with weird unpleasant mushroom note. Malty, bready and metallic flavor with hints of rye. Light bodied with some astringency. Unpleasant metallic, grainy, mushroomy and astringent finish. On draught at Gastropub Jalo this tasted like just another bland vienna, but this bottle is simply repulsive.

Milky aroma, some toffee too. Bright clear red. A tad vegetal and mushroomy, but I was able to overlook that after a few sips. Becomes sweeter and more like a simple dunkel. Finish is sweet too. Not as horrific as the others make it out to be. Has nothing to do with mämmi at all.

500 ml bottle. Clear amber orange colour, not much head to speak of. Simple, sweet malty aroma. The flavour is malty, sweet, with a very prominent and disturbing vegetable-like component. An uninteresting beer that certainly doesn’t live up to its name: no matter how hard I tried, I could not find anything even distantly like mämmi in this "Worlds first and best beer brewed with Mämmi" (quoting the label).
