0,5 l can. Clear golden color, big white head. Sweet, lightly floral aroma. Taste is sweet malts and hops, with more bitterness than I’d expected. The bitter aftertaste lingers pleasantly. Beats the hell out of Finnish mass-market beers, at least. Rerate: pushing up the rating, because Kukko Pils is one of the few good pilseners available in Finland at a reasonable price. And it doesn’t suffer from the same grassiness as Laitila’s Kukko Lager.

0,5l can. Pale golden color with hints of green. Foamy white head. Malty nose, quite modest. Malts and gentle hops makes up for the taste, slightly bitter pils-type finish.

This is a beer that should have stayed unpublished. same coloured water as the rest of finnish bulk beers.

Bottled(500ml). -Yellow coloured, medium sized firm white head, dry herbal nose. Lively carbonation. Malty, weak hoppy, herbal and hay taste with notes of vegetables in the finish. Long lasting herbal bitterness in the aftertaste. Also quite watery palate.

Keg (Gallows Bird, Espoo)
Note - the keg version is almost always incomparably better than the canned version. Don’t have the canned version if you can instead do the keg.
Gold, thin head. Slightly creamy aroma, slightly gingery and mashy, but raw and a bit vegetal. Fizzy in the mouth. Taste matches aroma, again creamy, some tangy hops, but alas vegetal. Ditto the finish. It’s good that they’ve stuck a good punchy flavour in this, but I can’t get past the vegetables.

Draught at Old Brick’s Inn, Jyväskylä. Golden color with small quickly fading head. Malt and herbal hops in the aroma. Moderate maltiness, firm bitterness, herbal hops and notes of lemon in the flavor. Fairly dry, light bodied and highly carbonated.
