Bottle. A dark, reddish brown beer, clear, with a two-finger creamy off-white head. Beef-stock, coffee-notes, roasted malts and a hint of wet cardboard in the aroma. Coffee, beef-stock, roasted malts, some chocolate and a lack of hops in the mouth, dry and full-bodied. It finishes in the same roasted, stocky way, and still without any hoppy bitterness worth mentioning. The beer could use some hops, and the wet cardboard in the aroma should go. Else, it’s a nice beer. (090501)

Bottle. Dark brown body. Pale brown medium sized head. Quite heavy sweet aroma, some small hints of chocolate, brown sugar and roasted malt. Quite rich flavour, much bitterness. A little sour. Some licorice, garbage and roasted malt. Not my favourite. (At home, 12.01.09)

50cl bottle. Black with coarse beige head. Extremely metallic aroma, little ashy maltiness and earth. A tad cleaner flavor with ash, liquorice, dark coffee and metal of course. Little smoke and fruitiness at room temperature. Almost undrinkable with all these off-flavors, and unbalanced even without them.

Small brown head. Nearly opaque deep red-brown body. Roasty caramelly raisiny buttery aroma with fruity notes. Dry roasty burnt caramelly taste with buttery papery notes. Mild mouthfeel, empty body. Dry papery chocolatey aftertaste. Nice! (0.5l bottle, Alko Arkadia, Helsinki.)
