| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 6, 2009 In short: A sweet, smoky and fruity thin porter. Acceptable session beer.
How: Bottle 500ml. Age unknown but probably fresh, brought to Montreal by Finland locals. Tasting session with Montreal crew
The look: Dark brown body topped by a beige ring of foam
In long: The nose has smoky notes and dark fruits. Roasted level is relatively low. Some dark fruits, some brownies, a little caramel, light hops presence. A little sweet. Halfway between a Smoked Porter and a Baltic Porter. A little thin. Not very tasty. Overall this is as forgettable as it is easy to drink. I cannot fault it for anything nor did I find anything to really like. A decent offering nonetheless. I wish this little brewery all the success in the world. And if the brewery doesn’t work out they can open a rotisserie, they have a logo ready. MartinT (5068), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 25, 2009 My Bottom Line:
Bready and smoky caramelized malts thrive alongside fruity esters before tumbling into a green hop and roasted malt bitterness.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the blackened dark brown.
-This is sweetish to be super drinkable, but it’s still a pleasant brew.
-Roastiness is there but quiet, and black bean notes are also tasted.
-This is not the strongest Baltic Porter, but the malt signature is definitely there.

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 17, 2009 50 cl bottle. Dark nice color. Rather nice roasted malts with some coffee and caramel. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | May 13, 2009 Bottle. A dark, reddish brown beer, clear, with a two-finger creamy off-white head. Beef-stock, coffee-notes, roasted malts and a hint of wet cardboard in the aroma. Coffee, beef-stock, roasted malts, some chocolate and a lack of hops in the mouth, dry and full-bodied. It finishes in the same roasted, stocky way, and still without any hoppy bitterness worth mentioning. The beer could use some hops, and the wet cardboard in the aroma should go. Else, it’s a nice beer. (090501)
