Ungstrup (14724), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 23, 2009 Can. A light golden perry. Both the aroma and flavor are sweet and dominated by pears. FatPhil (3443), Espoo, Finland Aug 8, 2009 330ml bottle (Eat&Joy)
Typical Finnish pear cider aroma - sweet pear drops. Sweet peary
taste, but a fair amount of honey too. Finish is pure candy sugar.
And this is the ’dry’ one? I fear for what a sweet one might be like.
Not a disaster, though, but a bit wet and sweet. oh6gdx (8795), Vasa, Finland Dec 26, 2008 Can. Pale yellowish golden colour with small white head that disappears quickly. Aroma is is pear and some slight sappy notes. Flavour is pear with some hints of apples and also I strangely enough find strawberries in it. Quite sweet in the finish. Papsoe (14613), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 7, 2008 (Can 50 cl) Courtesy of oh6gdx. Almost crystal clear pale golden with a tiny white head. Distinct pear aroma. Light body with a heavy carbonation, a little sulphur and again distinct and fresh pear accents - perhaps a little artificial though. Very discreet acidity. 180808 joergen (8429), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 20, 2008 Can.
Clear pale yellow coloured (almost colourless) with a small white head.
Sweet aroma of perries and apples.
Flavour of perries and apples.
Light watery. yespr (11613), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 19, 2008 50 cL bottle. Pours clear and greenish pale with a fully gone head. dry and slight phenolic perry aroma. Light sweetness form the perry notes. A bit flat perry flavour - towards watery too. Watery yet vague perry flavoured sweet finish. blankboy (3157), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 10, 2006 Can shared with HogTownHarry courtesy of R. Pours a clear and very pale yellow, almost white, with a small diminishing white head. Mild sweet aroma of tart apples and a hint of pear. Flavour, also sweet and a little tart, of apples and pear -- it’s pretty flat and needs more carbonation. Light bodied. It’s decent. HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Jun 26, 2006 Can (330ml). Shared with blankboy. How do I get to rate this first in Ontario? Oh well ... Poured pale greeny-yellow with a smallish fizzy white head. Aroma is very mild - like the dry apple cider - nice tart/sweet pear with a bit of graininess. Taste is very mild, but pleasant - still, watery mouthfeel, not too sweet, a little syrupy; tasty, but needs more character - and more carbonation. But I like pears, so I’m generous with my rating.
