Commercial Description:
Intended to be a highly hopped, full-flavored beer. Based on the "American Pale Ale" style, but with more malt flavor. Using American grown hops and barley malted right here in Wisconsin, this is a beer that will make even the most discerning tongue tingle. Try just one and we think you'll agree that 'Once you've had hops, you'll never stop'.

Super duper creamy, even reminded me of the taste of cream soda. Devoid of any astringent component. Same note from nose to finish. Interesting, okay. I really did not think the hop taste is big at all.

$1.59 bottle. Pours to a clean deep amber body. Has a lasting foamy white head. The aroma is dry piney hops, medium-light chocolatey malts, fruit. The flavor is piney, lightly resiny, sweet caramel maltyness. The palate is moderate at best. I wasn’t blown away by this beer.

From a 12 oz. long neck brown with no bottled/freshness date. Poured a hazy orangy copper with a foamy head that settled into a thin sudsy lacing, small amount of sticking. Had a nose of oranges and pine, a bit floral and caramelized malts. Good carbonation, a soft malty crispness and smooth lightish medium bodied mouthfeel. Caramelized malts with a bit of grain, a light citrus mixed with pine, a powdery chocolate towards the end and a dry caramelized and citrus finish with a touch of leafiness. A nice APA from Lake Louie, tasty, balanced and very drinkable.

2006 bottle from the_Enemy consumed some time in June 2006.
Quite a dark bodied APA, mine almost seemed a deep chestnut-amber, medium-high clarity with some softer orange hues on the edges. Head is nearly creamy, well-retained and laces somewhat as it eventually recedes to cover.
Fully fruity hops in the nose are balanced immediately by chocolate-caramel notes, strong base malt sugars and just a rapturous perceived-body. Hops stick to the nose, with ruby red grapefruit, sweet oranges and definitely some light cherries. No clash between the darker malts and the poigant hops, whatsoever. They did a wonderful job aroma hopping or dry hopping it, because it dosent come off that bitter.
In the mouth, the beer remains well supported by sweet malts (not too sweet), light caramel, heavily toasted grains and just a light touch of coffee giving a snappy dryness on the end. The hops are overlaid well, but are a touch less fruity in the flavor. More dry and crisp with some hints of sweet grapefruit, but mostly moderate citrus, some floral bitterness and a grapefruit rind note that lingers lightly. Some light yeast nuttiness shows freshness and livliness in the beer. Carbonation is moderate, engaging enough without being burdensome. Body ranges from lightly sticky (maltwise) to crisp on the end, as the hops take over.

Thanks to Mark for the bottle. The body is medium amber with a long lasting thin white head. Teh aroma is fresh bread with some pancakes and a little bit of grapefruit. This smells liek it is on the more malty end of the spectrum. The taste has some medium grapefruit with roasted peanuts. There is also some toasted bread crust in the finish. Good stuff, a great session style bee.r

Bottled. Poured a clear lighter orange/amber with a tall, well-retained white head. Plenty of lacing ensued. Nose picked up a caramelly/toffee sweet malt base with plenty of fresh pine needles and citrus from the hop department. Flavor finds doughy and caramelly malts across the middle with pine forest and grapefruit hop presence all ’round the mouth. Balance was a tad off in the transition. Finish was hoppy with a sticky malt presence. Lighter-bodied. With some minor refinements, this could be a great APA.

This has taken over as my go to session beer! It pours a golden-amber hue with a good full head that doesnt quit. The smell is hops like hell, high bite citrus, green hop freshness, and a hint of candy sweetness. The taste is hops almighty! Eat your hart out Alpha King, this bad boy is gunning for yah! Folks this is all hops balance with even more hops with a touch of soft cream and a hint of yeast, if you arent a serious hop-o-holic, than pass, but if you’re like me, well then HELL YAH!

12oz bottle acquired in trade with The_Enemy (thanks!). Opened to a loud pssst. No surprise that it poured all head (off white). It finally settled down into a deep and crystal clear orange color. The bottom of the bottle became very cloudy with lots of floaters. Aromas of flowers, caramel, and doughy. Tastes of cookie dough, citrus, flowers and light caramel. I expected the body to be over carbonated with the way it opened and poured, but it wasn’t.
