Commercial Description:
Intended to be a highly hopped, full-flavored beer. Based on the "American Pale Ale" style, but with more malt flavor. Using American grown hops and barley malted right here in Wisconsin, this is a beer that will make even the most discerning tongue tingle. Try just one and we think you'll agree that 'Once you've had hops, you'll never stop'.

Pours with a slightly cloudy, orange-amber body topped by a thick head with a good amount of lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet and flowery yet bitter with a grepfruity hoppiness. The flavor is slightly sweet and flowery with a lsight bitterness. Somewhat weak flavor. Light to medium bodied and smooth.

Bottle obtained in a trade with The_Enemy, thanks!! Pours a clear medium gold color with a big, bubbly head that disappates in a very holey manner. Aroma is very fruity, almost candy like, very light and refreshing to the nose. Flavor isn’t as appealing as the nose. Hints of hops and grass are present with a slight apple after-taste. Kind of dry on the palate and the aftertaste didn’t do a whole lot for me. Not bad at all for an APA, just not my cup of tea.

Pours a nice light amber color. I agree with Pailhead in that the aroma is quite piney with some citrus accents. Flavor is very hoppy with some maltiness present. Still delicious!

Bottle: Courtesy of The_Enemy via a bonus package. Huge aroma of piney hops and a hint of citrus hops. Pours a transparent bright reddish-orange with a moderate white head that lasts a minute or so. Expected an extremely hoppy APA based on the aroma. Rather malty up front with moderate cookie. Hops are actually subdued in the finish. I would say a reverse of the aroma. Hops are mostly grapefruit with light pine. A hint of acidity. A tastey and well balanced APA.

Strong cascade aroma poured from the bottle. Clear with a light amber color. Immediate flavor tapering to an even finish. Light body with a little malt-sweetness. I like this beer.

From the bottle. Nice hop aroma, fresh grown hops. Hop flavor doesn’t stay in the mouth too long. Color is light amber wiht a nice tight head with some lace. Great example of an APA, without trying to be in your face. This is a great beer.

While I understand the distribution limitations of growler-only packaging, I confess I was a bit worried about how the switchover from growler-to-sixpack would affect the flavor of Lake Louie beers. So far so good. Nice hop floral bouquet with notable citrus on the nose as well. Pours golden amber with a medium fluffy white head. Initial cascade bite is rather nicely balanced with pale malt sweetness. This medium-bodied beer is an excellent study in how to deliver a good Northwest hop kick without letting the hops overhwelm all else and without requiring a ton of malt to offset. Both judicious and flavorful, Arena Premium is a more of a subtle beer than a flavor riot. This is how an APA should be. My guess is that this nanobrewery is going places, and now I have a couple of discontinued souvenir growlers. :)

Lightish amber color, decent lasting head (newly available bottle conditioned verion). Big citric, pine resin cascade aroma. Pale maltiness is light enough to make this a great session, but provides something to offset the heavy hopping. Very well balanced. A great session APA for cascade fans like me.
