GTMW 2006. The beer pours to a hazy glowing golden body with a fizzy white head. The aroma is cinnamon, yeast, nice grains, rinds of fruit. The flavor is much the same. Nice sweetness pervades. The palate is smooth yet sticky.

Clear golden body with a sudsy white head. Aroma of sweet honeysuckle, sweaty orange peels, and spicy hops. Flavor is medium sweet and features buttery nuts, smooth phenols, firm hops, and spicy bitterness. A strong, hoppy, and solid American tripel.

Thanks to hopdog. Pours mostly cloudy light amber, and a thin film covering the beer. Aroma has a decent amount of yeast and spicy phenols, but I noticed some wierd bourbony alcohol presence as well. Fruity flavor, sweet and malty, with some light bready malts coming through and finishes slightly bitter and spicy. Smooth palate and mouthfeel- but sweeter than some of the other tripels of the night.

Thanks to hopdog for this… Appears a light golden orange with a small white head and spotty lacing that is left in the glass. Smell is of caramel, vanilla, maple, and apricot. Taste is of caramel, vanilla, with mild bits of the Abbey Ale yeast coming through. Mouthfeel is yeasty with caramel lingering that is slightly too sweet.

12oz bottle acquired in a trade with The_Enemy (thanks!). Poured a medium amber color with a small sized white head. Aromas of spices, fruits (apricots & apples), and sugary. Tastes follows the same as the aromas. Some alcohol in the finish. All around sweet.

Poured a golden amber color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of spices, caramel malts, some butter, citrus fruits, and candy sugar. Taste of yeast and citrus, candy sugar, light spices, and a brash alcohol finish.

Bottle: Courtesy of The_Enemy via a bonus box. Aroma of caramel, brown sugar, and apple. Pours a bright transparent amber with a small off-white head. Caramel, butterscotch, brown sugar, and yeast. Very light hints of apple in the background. Finishes with a lighlty nutty and bitter finish. Sticky mouthfeel.

12oz bottle
Clear pale amber liquid forms a thin white head on pour which vanishes a bit too quickly. Nutty yeast and alcohol aroma with some grassy sour. Flavor starts dry, nutty and medium-bitter, then malt and candy sweetness arrives to provide balance. Grainy-grassy sour notes show up on the sides of the tongue. Full-bodied tingly palate. Gives Tripel Karmeliet a good run for its money.
