Sweet malt aroma with lots of corn & some fruit in there. Peppery finish to go with a taste of sweet malts & corn. Goes down pretty easy, little to no bitterness. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 14, 2008 A thin scum of a white head sits on top of a very pale yellow body. Hot dog is a smell I have never described in a beer before, but there’s always time for a first. There is also a cooked corn note, but not in the off flavor type. The taste is bread crust with some potatoes. A little bit of black pepper spice comes through in the finish. It tastes a lot better than it smells. I wanted to like this one more. csbosox (1082), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 15, 2007 12oz bottle. Huge freaking head when poured into a snifter. Under the huge head lies a really light golden colored beer. Earthy hops, malt and corn in the aroma. The adjunct smell isn’t off putting, but it is distinct. Nevertheless, it is part of the style. The taste is sweet and grainy at first followed by a little more of the same. The hops stay back in the flavor. The flavor is clean and crisp and well balanced. A nice cream ale, really about a perfect lawnmower beer. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 11, 2007 12/11/2007: Lake Louie Coon Rock Cream Ale is a very pale golden straw color (with a peach hue) and is slightly hazy. There is a controlled level of carbonation. A really small fizzy off-white head vanishes rapidly. The aroma has a mild sweetness and a touch of mango and/or passion fruit. The flavor is malty with some creamy notes and a balanced level of sweetness. It is somewhat grainy in the middle. The floral hops are quite evident in the flavor and they impart a balancing bitterness is present in the finish as well as traces tropical fruitiness. This beer is moderately light, fairly smooth, and goes down in the snap of a finger. Decent overall.

Aroma of cookies and grain. Sweet on the tongue and long in the finish (for the style anyway). Fine anytime type of beer. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA
